Deer or the Doe is a band from Portland, Oregon. Formed in the spring of 2006, Deer or the Doe began as a two piece experiment between Aaron Miller and Carlos Segovia (formerly of Spider on Spiders, Curse Carousel Pony). They quickly brought in Clint Cunningham (also from Curse Carousel Pony) and Cassie Neth and began playing shows in June of 2006. In a short amount of time they home recorded a EP and extensively toured the southwest. In the spring of 2007 they went into the studio with engineer Skylar Norwood (Talkdemonic, Horse Feathers) at Miracle Lake Studios to record their debut album, “Go to sleep quit listening.” The album was released independently summer 2007. Followed by a east coast tour in September 2007 with fellow Portlanders Junkface. In late 2008 the band added long time friend Blake Carrillo (Cinema Minimal) to the band and set out to write some new material. With engineer Victor Nash (Point Juncture WA) the band recorded six songs, mixed by John Askew at Scenic Burrows. The band is looking to get the new record out by the end of summer.
