DEETALKS ENT. & THE NEWEST MEMBA- ABIZZY CHECK HIM
His stage name is DEETALKS. He has chosen that name because he has spent time in one before. The unique spelling though was created by his artistic side, His last name is DEFILIPPI. All his friends call him DEE, so basically when you purchase his CD, DEE TALKS TO YOU!
His music is very personal to him, talking about how he grew up, where and how big of an influence his city was to him(BOSTON). Living in a suburb 5 minutes outside the city brings many things: including drugs, violence, and a unique east coast style of music. As a young kid, about 9 years old, Dee started listening to Tupac. Tupac was his biggest overall influence on his music career. He tells of the way his life is and thats it. There is no bullshit when it comes to a real artist. Everything is real. Dee was writing rhymes ever since he was 10 years old. When he picks up something he has written back then, He seriously thinks he was a crack baby, haha. But as time goes on with any artist, maturity sets in. Right now DEETALKS music is at its peak, toung twisting lyrics with raw emotion. From screaming on HIS songS about how he wishes he would get signed, to telling you about getting arrested with a class B, a class C, and a class D. Dee's music is some of the darkest, with those few songs that will bring life to your everyday world. Buy The CD and you will have no regrets! "1/2 a blunt from Boston"
Michael Dee.....was born in The suburbs of Boston. As a young teen, even as young as 10,HE would listen over and over again to Tupac Shakurs records. HE was very motivated by his Fuck the World atitude and soon started living by these same standards. Doing drugs became an everyday thing for dee. Smoking weed straight to drinking and before you know it, taking any kinda pill he could get his hands on. With school obviously not going well, his descision was to drop out. Music at this point was his everything. he had a song on his playlist that went with every mood he felt in a day, which was usually depressed and angry. As soon as he started writing music, he knew it was for him. Even though most of it was shit, so much was released out of his mind. It was very therapeutic for him to do this. Writing rhymes and writing rhymes, and poppin pills to sleep. Sooner then he thought, all the drugs he was doing caught up to him and his parents insisted he go to Detox, (thanks ma and dad).
His first stay at Detox was when he was 16.he went for klonopins and oxys. This was when the anger became overwhelming for him. All he ever thought was fuck you and fuck that, gimme those. Out of detox and clean, The atitude stayed, he always wrote music considering himself a living dictionary. Words you never knew could ryhme, now do. Freestying for friends, As time went on, dee was gettin better and better responses. Finally he made his first Cd. he listens to it today and laughs, for a first album it impressed most of his friends and family at the time. 6 months went by and dee started smoking weed on a regular basis again, and working doing plumbing with his father to make ends meet. together they work at lizard lounge in Cambridge where open mic nights are held every Mondays. Fuck it, why not. The crowd cheers. Performing is an art in its own.
Those green guys are now his best friend again, all his friends are hooked, 2 he grew up with are dead, and some locked up. he needs to get outta here! In a weeks notice, hes off to Cali driving cross country by himself to pursue his music career(not as easy as i thought). Getting to Cali witha limited budget and no friends or no job was the stupidest thing he'd ever done( besides all the drugs ). Running outta money in a short period of time and not being able to sell his 4 song demo, dee was comin home.
Depressed and angry. Finally a good friend got a script of suboxone which he is still on to this day, a long story short, Clean for 4 months and no desire to go back.
Now sober, he needs to get in a studio. he never stopped writing
music, so its getting better and better. dee has a tendency to go with all piano beats, with synths, violins, and flutes. Preferably the darkest beats he can get his hands on. With 10 songs written, and money stacking up in the bank from his plumbing job. Finishing his first LP is now his goal. Abizzy boy, an artist who deetalks collaberates with often, is now working on a few songs with him. And a reggae artist in his area that has blown up in Boston, is now layin hooks on his songs. despite the fact that everytime he records,he still likesto eat a suboxone and a half or so, The music is the best it has
ever been. WHAT CAN HE SAY BESIDES, "IM FUCKIN NASTY!" nah but if you are a hip hop fan, this CD is for you. Every song is a guarantee that you will relate to something in it. "Hard hitting kicks, snaps for snares, and a violin in The background, The Boston Anthem will make any true Bostonian Jump off their feet." " The words of a poet, with the tenacity of a pitbull, A smooth flow will mesmerize you into tomorrow."
