DEEZEL zijn Dirk Merket (zang en gitaar) en Jack Kools (zang en keyboards).
Zij brengen een semi-akkoestische set, bestaande uit eigen nummers, gekende covers en meezingers ..... geschikt voor elke muzikale activiteit van caféoptredens tot recepties en van klein privé-feestjes tot festivals
Frontman, oprichter en componist van "DeeZeL", Dirk Merket, is geen onbekende in muziekkringen. Hij maakte furore in verscheidene groepen waarvan de bekendste MAYA met o.a. Mark Verhaegen (latere bassist Fandango), Walter Mets (latere drummer van o.a.Soulsister, The Radios en Clousseau), Remo Martuffi (F. Glorieux), enz. en zijn eigen band "AVEC" waarmee hij onder management van Peter VAnderhallen (Confetti's) de singel Dancin'Freaks uitbracht.
Dirk mag de drijvende kracht van "DeeZeL" genoemd worden. Zoals hij zelf zegt: "DeeZeL" is 'mijne kleine' en ik wil iedereen ervan mee laten genieten, zowel op als rond het podium.

De rustige toetsen-wizard 'Crazy Jack' Kools is op jonge leeftijd met muziek begonnen. Toen hij 10 was volgde hij muziekschool en diverse privé-lessen. Ook achter de schermen zijn er niet veel geheimen meer voor hem. Gedurende vier jaar leerde hij het muziekwereldje kennen als roadie van een Nederlandse coverband, waar hij ook regelmatig als vervanger van de toetsenist fungeerde. Op hetzelfde moment had hij ook zijn eigen band.
Bij Deezel laat Jack U beroeren door zijn magische toetsen-handen en zijn fijne backing- en leadvocals.
In samenwerking met producer Tom De CLercq, die Deezel onder zijn vleugels heeft genomen is een eerste singel "Love Junky" opgenomen.

Dirk Merket is a songwriter/musician/singer from Belgium.
Some years ago he released his first single "Dancin' Freaks" (with his band "Avec") which did quite well !!
Dirk has been writing songs ever since and plays together with Jack Kools, a keyboardplayer from Holland, and they perform as "DEEZEL".
Now in co-operation with producer Tom De Clercq, who has taken "Deezel" under his wings, they recorded their first singel "Love Junky"!!
