About me:
For the basic music 411...
Due to my sister Joy's influence, I started playing sax in the 4th grade 1986. I quit my senior year 1994 but always stayed around music. fast forward to 1999... LA undergrounds. Then to England the same year where a good friend of mine had a set of Decks and a couple of crates of records that he would let me jump on. I also started promoting for a club called CHECK POINT CHARLIES that was every other Thursday night. At Check Point Charlie's I was in charge of hosting the VIP area for the artist. That is where I found the DJ culture to be sooo interesting, behind the scenes. The planning, organizing, and throwing of parties had me itching for more...
Back to the USA and back in Orange County I landed in a group of apartments called the "L.V.G." La Vita Grand...many crazy stories to come from there...some to share and some to take to my grave... there I meet Josh I. (Commander Squash) and a good group of friends that would have a lasting impact on my life. Nick S. (Selekta M16), Brian A. (Eek Da Cat), Charles C. (Red October) were to be the foundation of DRUMADIK...a promotion crew and label. We were learning as went a long. Learning how to throw events, learning how to promote events and learning how to press vinyl. That is when our relationship with Oscar Da Grouch (www.turnstylerecords.com) was started. Teaching us how to engineer and produce the best sounding records we could. Teaching us the fundamentals of quality over quantity. Events got bigger and better and in 2001 in Costa Mesa we where we did a show called Southern Cross (in reference to Constellation not the southern flag...just to clear that up...think back to robotek.) And then to the Back Alley bar and grill in Fullerton with a weekly called Sound Check. In 2002 I moved back down to San Diego, Ca. Away form all my friends and crew I longed to do more shows and bring my friends down to me... Red October at that time writing and performing his own music he needed an outlet. That is when I meet back up with DonRyan, and Kevin Jobe (Mainframe) and the seeds of Jungle Riddim Records were born. Our first show to debut our new ragga dub plates was in Feb. 2003, and we haven't looked back since. Even if I could tell you the number of shows that we have been apart off I wouldn’t...the number of shows is unimportant, what is important is that the quality, vibe and production of the shows, which are always improving. Bless up...live your day as if it were your last!!!
Summary:
Let’s see....music is the one of the most important outlets in my life right now. I own an independent label called Jungle Riddim Records. Based here in San Diego well cuzz that is where I live. I would love to get back to England for another long visit....studying abroad was one of the biggest life lessons I have been given.
Now the music is important to me but more soo are the relationships that have grown from them...
Ok I am tired of talking about that....get to know me you will understand what I am rambling about.
