DEFANICO, born in 1982 in Mexico City, developed an intuitive spirit for the arts at an early age. He began writing songs for piano during the fundamental stages of his youth, his composition oscillating between classical, all the way to rock, pop and electronic music. He has been influenced by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Queen, Bjork, Suede, Sasha, U2, Smashing Pumpkins, Pulp, Bob Marley, The Cure, OMD, Beck, New Order, Guns n’ Roses, INXS and classic masters like Beethoven and Mozart. DEFANICO has now entered the world of modern pop and alternative bands such as Radiohead.

• 2009 Received a Platinum Auddy from www.uplaya.com for the song US.
• 2009 Wrote & recorded new songs including Surrender, featuring Eduardo Rossell, a top Mexican DJ & Producer.
• 2008 Special on Beat 100.9 FM (the most popular electronic music station in Mexico).
• 2008 Air time on Ibero 90.9 FM (a popular indie music radio station in Mexico).
• 2008 Air time on 97.7 FM, Acapulco.
• 2008 Private voice classes with Miguel Chavero.
• 2008 Presented “Rise of the Cosmos” at the Colemena music festival in Tepoztlan, Mexico (headliners Sigur Ros & Andrew Bird & performances by other artists considered to be the best from the ‘new scene’ in Mexico).
• 2005-2008 Wrote over 200 songs and recorded debut album as Defanico “Rise of the Cosmos;” which was played on various internet radio stations & received great reviews from the famous Gustavo Cerati of Soda Stereo (one of the most famous alternative rock bands in Argentina).
• 2005 Recorded the EP, Awakening.
• 2005 Worked with Leonardo de Lozanne (from the band Fobia, well known in Mexico) as a voice director.
• 2005 Shared the stage with the band Botellita de Jerez, Alejandro Marcovich & Sabo Romo from the band Caifanes, legendary in Mexico.
• 2003 Recorded the EP titled, Frederic Pope.
• 2001-2006 Performed all over Mexico as Frederic Pope & wrote over 100 songs while with the band.
• 2001 Recorded the EP titled, No Way Out.
• 2001 Studied Media and Technology at G-Martell Academy.
• 2000-2004 Studied at Fermatta Music Academy obtaining a Masters Degree in Piano and Composition with a minor in Voice.
• 1998-2000 Individual piano classes with Gerardo Porras (Berkley alumni).

Defanico se mezcla entre lo electronico, ambiental y el rock-pop. Ha compuesto mas de 300 temas (incluyendo instumental/piano), tiene experiencia y talento para presentarse en vivo. (Mas de 200 venues diferentes y varias presentaciones en los escenarios mas ensordecedores por toda la Ciudad de Mexico. Leonardo de Lozanne (Fobia) fue director vocal de Defanico.
El album debut titulado "Rise of the Cosmos" se presenta con finas texturas y sonidos frescos. Defanico compartio escenario con Sigur Ros & Andrew Bird en la presentacion del disco. Compuesto por Defanico y producido por Alejandro de la Parra Solomon (BLY). La banda en vivo de Defanico es dirigida y producida por Defanico y Rodrigo Montalvo Gadea por Interstellar Entertainment Inc.
