About me:
My name is Mellie! I run a Melbourne based alternative fashion label called Defence Mechanism, which has been officially running for just over a year now, with the main website currently under construction.
Defence Mechanism Clothing is for the sweet girly-girl in all of us! Its about accentuating what you've got, so its perfect for curvy girls like myself. Its designed to give an exaggerated hourglass figure, through flattering design lines, corsetry and body hugging skirts that flare at the knee. Dress it down with a casual jacket, or wear it out with a corset. My ranges have pieces to suit most occasions, from a night out, to a lazy lunch with friends, or just going to do the shopping. Its clearly different, without weighing you down with impractical extras, and even most mainstream people will agree that you look stunning!
I'm also part of the organising team for Melbourne's alternative fashion show, Circa Nocturna.
Circa Nocturna is coming around again early next year, on March the 1st at the Fitzroy Town Hall, so if you happen to be in Melbourne, don't miss out, as it'll be the best one so far! With 14 designers, including a number of new up-and-coming designers, its bound to be a brilliant night of glitz and glamour! Tickets will be available in early 2008, but be quick! We're limited to only 400 seats!
