Der gebürtige Düsseldorfer ist aus der Landschaft der elektronischen Musik nicht mehr wegzudenken. Abseits von Techno fing Massimo schon im Alter von 16 Jahren als Hip Hop DJ auf verschiedenen Veranstaltungen an. Schnell interessiert sich die Major Company EMI für Massimo und seine Band „Colorblind“ und veröffentlichte zwei Tonträger. Stück für Stück näherte sich Massimo danach der elektronischen Musik und wird 1993 Resident des legendären Warehouse in Köln. Schnell sprechen sich seine progressiven Sets herum und er legt in Clubs wie dem Airport/Würzburg, Omen/Frankfurt, Tresor/Berlin auf. Den Namen Massimo findet man auf allen wichtigen Großveranstaltungen, in ganz Europa und den USA auf Flyern und Plakaten.
Neben dem Auflegen veröffentlicht Massimo von Beginn an regelmäßig Tracks u. a. auf Labels wie Primate, Artform, SOK, Compressed,PV Records oder Superfly. Zu seinen Veröffentlichungen äußern sich DJ-Größen wie Laurent Garnier oder Carl Cox voller Lob. Weiterhin erscheinen ebenfalls Mix-Compilations wie „Monotrain“ oder „At the Wheels of Steel“, wobei sich bei den schnell vergriffenen Auflagen immer wieder die Beliebtheit von Massimo und seinem Sound zeigt.
Die Ära des Radiosenders Evosonic hat die Entwicklung der elektronischen Musik maßgeblich mitgeprägt, dies nicht nur in Deutschland, sondern weltweit, da das Programm via Satellit empfangen werden konnte. Dieses Kapitel trägt ebenfalls die Handschrift von Massimo, denn im Format war seine eigene Radioshow „The 14th breath“ zu hören und die sehr beliebte Sendung mit Chris Liebing „Evopool“. Von da an war Massimo als Moderator und DJ immer wieder im Radio zu finden, so u.a. bei der HR 3 Clubnight, Pitch Control oder Radio Sunshine.
Wer rastet, der rostet - und so initiierte er immer wieder neue Projekte, wie das Trip Hop-Projekt „Sile Circle“, musikalische Kooperationen mit anderen Künstlern und Produzenten. 1998 startet Massimo „Definition of Techno“, eine Veranstaltungsreihe, die die Entwicklung der elektronischen Musik genau unter die Lupe nimmt und diese präsentiert. Zu Gast sind die wichtigsten Produzenten, DJ..s und Live-Acts unserer Zeit: Slam, Technasia,Wangorsch, Chris Liebing, Pascal F.E.O.S., Gayle San, Richie Hawtin, Anthony Rother, Monika Kruse uvm. Heute zählen die DOT-Events zu den größten und beliebtesten Techno-Veranstaltungen in NRW.
In 2002 erschien passend zu dem Projekt die äußerst erfolgreiche Mix-Compilation „Definititon of Techno“ bei Alphabet-City. Aufgrund des großen Erfolges erschien im Sommer 2003 der zweite Teil der Mix-Compilation. 2004 wurde folgerichtig das eigene Label „DOT“ gestartet. Ende desselben Jahres hat Massimo bereits „Under Influence“ auf dem Label veröffentlicht, 2005 dann seine hoch gelobte Platte „The Next Chapter“ und weitere Veröffentlichungen.
2004 startete Massimo zusammen mit Go Between „ultra“, ein Kulturfestival, welches es bis dato so in Deutschland noch nicht gab. ultra schlägt eine Brücke zwischen der elektronischen Musik und anderen Kulturdisziplinen und forciert dadurch neue Einsichten. So konnte man im September 2004 neben nationalen und internationalen Musikacts ebenfalls Literatur und Diskussionsforen erleben.
Im August 2005 hat Massimo u. a. auf der Nature One gespielt. Ebenso gab es auf der Nature One und der Ruhr in Love eigene Floors von Definition of Techno.

It’s virtually unthinkable that the native German, born in Düsseldorf, would hit any other direction than electronic music. Massimo had already begun at the age of 16 as a Hip Hop DJ, performing on various events. The Major Company EMI became interested in Massimo and his band "Colorblind" immediately, and published two EP's and a LP.
In ‘93 Massimo started to develop his music more towards electronic dance, becoming one of the first resident DJ’s of the legendary "Warehouse" in Cologne. Within a short time his progressive Sets gained momentum, attracting clubbers from all over Germany to see him perform. He started to receive requests from clubs such as:
"Airport"/ Würzburg, "Omen"/ Frankfurt, "Tresor"/ Berlin, alongside other European/US requests. DJ Massimo had finally found and created his own unforgettable niche in the German Dance Music Scene.
Massimo has been described by many familiar with his sets as being a real DJs DJ, loving to play any set from between 2-15 hours in a night. His immaculate mixing skills always leaving the clubbers asking for more…
Apart from mixing, Massimo also turned his hand to his own productions – although with his at least 2 nights a week globe trotting Djing career, he gradually learned all the skills required to create his very own tracks. You can find his name on labels such as "Primate", "SOK", “PV Records”,"Compressed","Artform" and "Superfly".
His success and ever growing popularity have reflected in the sales of his Mix-Compilations "Monotrain" or "Wheels of Steel" Each having sold out almost the minute they entered the record stores.
There is hardly anyone in the electronic scene who doesn't remember and miss Germany’s-even today-most innovative and cutting edge dance music radio station "Evosonic", "The 14th Breath" slot produced and created by Massimo, became very reknown, just as the transmission show hosted by Chris Liebing, "Evopool".
In 1999 Massimo founded the event concept: "Definition of Techno". The event concept clearly presents electronic music without compromises. Within a short time the size and popularity increased enabling the project to enter new boundaries. Massimo's guest DJ's have included: Chris Liebing, Technasia,Wangorsch, Pascal F.E.O.S., Gayle San, Richie Hawtin, Anthony Rother, Thomas P. Heckmann, Monika Kruse, Thomas Krome, Joel Mull … – some of the most important producers and DJ's of our time. To name but a few!
The homebase of "Definition of Techno" is the club "Essigfabrik" in Cologne…watch this space!!!!
In collaboration with Go Between Massimo created the cultural festival “ultra” in 2004. The unique concept of this event combines electronic music with cultural aspects to discover new insights. Besides national and international acts “ultra” also presented writers and artists.
2004 Massimo was focussing more on his productions and international popularity, the first new breakthrough being an EP, by the man himself, due for release later this year on the U.K’s Artform Records (Artform 021, Intergroove, Germany) following successful past releases from G&VCT , Jamie Anderson (NRK, Mood II Swing). Massimo’s EP is followed up by a long awaited EP from one of Tech Funk’s Masters: Dave Angel.
Shortly after his debut on Artform, Massimo founded his own label “Definition of Techno” reflecting his club nights and creating a platform to release his own and other favoured producers productions. The first release “Under Influence” appeared in December 2004 followed 2005 by “The Next Chapter”, which got rave reviews, and other releases.

Pinklogik asked 10 artists and friends to remix her entire "Learning To Trust Higher Frequencies" album and what an eclectic and stunningly produced work this is. Each track has its own feel, thanks to the diverse range of artists involved in the project. A shimmering journey through ambient colours, broken beats, sweet melodies, a little bit of quantum physics, and is one hell of a trip....
