The E.P. "The Terrifying Green Silence" is exceedingly difficult to categorize as it draws from such a voluminous pool of musical resources. It contains strong elements of instrumental rock, fusion, prog rock, indian and north african music.
It features (hopefully, haha!) state of the art technique, strong melodic content, intriguing arrangements, multi-layered sonic landscapes and world music style diversity. The recording process took about 8 months to complete, and was aided greatly by my usage of B.F.O.C Guitars. The extreme clarity and broad tonal palette offered by these instuments is vital to the conveyance of my musical personality. More info soon...

Ben Badenhorst is a truly unique artist. He is widely considered to be the most technically proficient guitarist in his native South Africa.
He inspires awe in his audiences as he executes highly intricate and complex phrases, played at alien speeds and enormous velocities.
His music and compositions draw from a highly diverse and disparate cross-section of influences including Western and Indian Classical Music, Avant-Garde, Progressive Rock, Neo-Classical Metal, traditional North African and Middle Eastern music, and Martian Circus Music.
Over the last few years he has worked with such diverse artists as (as a percussionist) Band of Pan, Wazungu, (as a guitarist) Wendy Oldfield, The Gaia Collective, The Offshore Jazz Ensemble, Jam Mecca, The Carpet Mafia, The Sons of Azania, The Jazz-Reggae Project, Mynie Grove', and many others. He is currently working with musicians such as Jamie Jupiter and the ever-increasingly popular Tristan Waterkeyn.
Ben Badenhorst has released two albums under his own name; 'The Happily Reprobate Tubing of Octaves;A Definitive Anthology of Martian Circus Music', and 'An Arbitrary Point of Reference; Abstruse Sociological Meandings'.
The forthcoming EP, 'The Terrifying Green Silence' is currently in the design stages and will be released shortly on compact disc.
Four out of six tracks can currently be heard on this page.
Ben Badenhorst endorses Brian Fanner Guitars exclusively. More information on these amazing instruments coming soon...
