Defuse is influenced by; Misfits, Machine Head, The Cult, Alice in Chains, Monster Magnet, Danzig, Soundgarden,Ramones, Hellacopters, Backyard babies, Queens of the stone age, Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Muse, Tool, KISS, Velvet Revolver, Guns N Roses, Stone temple pilots, Nirvana and many more...
The year was 2000 when Defuse was formed in Kuopio. It was there that a pack of musicians from different backgrounds got their act together, guided by mutual musical interests. Defuse started their draconian training and published their first demos in 2001. This got the show on the road. In 2004 Defuse..s line-up changed when Ville stood aside and was replaced by Tero Karjalainen. Defuse performed loads of gigs and polished up their new songs. The musical bumping-days were over and they had found a new line. A new, more voluptuous Defuse had been born.
Tuhma Records was thrilled by the band..s material and decided they wanted to sign a contract with them. During the fall of 2004 Defuse released their first single Someday / Shot Down.
The year 2005 was spent by touring around Finland. During the fall they recorded their self titled album and it first saw the light of day in March 2006. This album received cracking reviews and gained plenty on radio airtime on several stations. This showed everybody what Defuse was all about. The video "Killing another Tear" was made in April , after which the band hit the road performing many shows in Finland, Estonia and Latvia.
2007 started out with a record release and tour in Italy. The tour was a big success and Defuse will definitely be going back there during the fall 2007. The band..s latest release is the video from the song "D.I.B", which stars Marco Hietala of Nightwish & Tarot as a guest.
Currently Defuse is in the process of producing their second album and playing Finnish festivals and clubs. New Defuse material will be available during Spring 2008.
