About me:
The season has begun!!! We will try to ride bike once a week as a group (specific days and times to be announced on our blog listed in the headline) and from time to time we will announce special rides. We will have opportunities to stencil, usually every week. if you are privy, than you know what this means. If you know of any outside bike events going on, please let us know so we can help spread the word. Again, we're mixing it up this year! Pay close attention to ride details here at the myspace page. We're doing alot more night rides, Saturday and/or Sunday rides, and different city rides for our expanding group! And new this year--a extra weekly "Must Ride"--a casual ride that has the same spot and time each week for whomever shows up and wants to pedal around! HOPE TO SEE YOU IN THE STREET!

We are a bike gang that cruises the streets and does it right! We have many nice weather plans and events in the works. Keep posted for more info! We are based in the metropolitain Detroit area and we'll be goin' down your avenue soon! Frolic! Fantasy! Fun! I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

Oh Bike Club! The joy! I am so much better for knowing you! You will be in my heart forever! I will see you all again soon! And thank you for the greatest send off ever! Thank you all!

I made it to Boulder late Saturday night safely and extremely tired. Here is a little vid of last week's Boulder ride. Enjoy! (I think that this week's theme is the annual Lingerie Ride)

FYI...

Detroit to levy $55 fines for unlicensed bikes
George Hunter / The Detroit News

DETROIT -- Unlicensed bicycle owners in Detroit: Beware.

In a city that has one of the nation's highest crime rates, Detroit cops have been given the order to start cracking down on unregistered bicycles.

Starting Aug. 7, officers will start issuing $55 tickets if bikes are unregistered. The dollar-a-year licenses are good for five years.

"This will assist with the identification of stolen bicycles," Detroit Police spokesman Officer Leon Rahmaan said.

The ordinance requiring bicycle registration, rarely enforced, has been on the books since 1964.

A Detroit Police press release issued Wednesday said: "Increased enforcement of the ordinance will ... take place citywide in order to ensure that any stolen property is returned to its proper owner. Enforcement will remain relaxed until Aug. 7, 2008, to allow bicycle owners an opportunity to register their bikes without penalty."

"You'd think the Detroit cops would have better things to worry about than giving out fines to people who don't register their bikes," said Detroiter Marv Adams, 56.

"This is just a way for them to get money out of people. They want to get those fines.

"What are they going to do: Give tickets to little kids who are riding their bikes? It's ridiculous," Adams said.

Other communities near Detroit do not require bicycle registration.

"It's not really a priority," Dearborn Police Lt. Wayne Seccombe said.

In Ferndale, bicycle owners may voluntarily register their bikes with the Police Department.

"If people want to, they can come in and we'll give them a sticker, which will help us track down the bikes," Sgt. Vince Palazzolo said. "But we don't require it."

Detroiters who want to avoid the fine may register their bicycles at any of the city's si

We need a twitter. I was apparently late and trailed the whole route both directions, no luck, and I didn't have anyone's digits. So I say we need a twitter for rides and impromptu events.

Dearest DTL,

I miss those ice-creamy weekends we used to share under the sun. Work's kept me from riding, which is a very wimpy, law-abiding confession. Also, I locked my bike to a small shrubbery and it was stolen.
I'll work on my law-defying abilities, get a bike, and hopefully ride soon!
