What do you get when a hardcore rock band, whose song premiered on HBO, runs head- on into one of MTV’s most talented pop singers? Put your hand down . . . yes, the answer is DEFY TOMORROW!
In July 2007, Mike Oliver, former lead singer and rhythm guitarist of ColdFusion joined together with the amazing vocal talents of Marissa Mishelle and the result is a head-banging melodic sound uniquely their own. Now joined at the hip, these two have already co-written 5 new songs and have a recorded demo of their first 3-song EP, “One Through The Heart”, set to be released in late October 2007. DT will bust out in 2008 on Taste of Chaos, Rockstar’s Get A Life Tour and Van’s Warped Tour.
Enough of the fluff, it now comes down to their hardcore credentials . . .
Added to Marissa’s MTV appearances was her premiere solo release and music video “Just So Able” on MTV and MTV Overdrive and radio stations across the U.S. It was voted by VH1 as their 1 Pop Video choice on Music Nation. Also on MTV, she shared the stage with artist Frankie J. She recently appeared as Mindy in the CW television series “Hidden Palms” and has a featured role in Universal Studios upcoming movie “Kids in America”. In June she began her solo tour and finished with a July Midwest Tour as featured lead singer with the former band ColdFusion.
Mike, as the originating member of ColdFusion, has been rockin’ the U.S. and just returned earlier this year from their international debut in Japan. CF was featured on HBO's premiere episode of Dane Cook's Tourgasm with their song "On My Own" which is also on the Tourgasm Soundtrack! And, CF is honored to be a part of the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame Museum and now part of the Van’s Warped Tour time capsule. Throughout the years, ColdFusion has taken charge of the airwaves and assaulted major venues, amphitheatres and arenas; and major events, such as the Nintendo Fusion Tour, Van's Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos and more. They have been joined on stage with drummer Mike Malinin of the GooGoo Dolls and Christopher Hall, formerly of Stabbing Westward; and have opened for such bands as Nickelback, The Used, Killswitch Engaged, Fallout Boy, Staind and countless more. They have recorded over 39 songs on 4 single CDs and 3 full-length CDs; and released 2 music videos. Their songs are aired on major Southwest and Japan radio stations; and their national TV debut was via Fox Sports Net.
