   About DeJaVu Roadshow
What a journey it has been over the last few years. From never even thinking of Djing or to owning 3 disco rigs of my own. This journey could not have started without help and encouragement of people and the motorcycle clubs that booked me in the beginning and those who continue to book me.

A very special thanks to Slider (Eagles MCC) and to Paul & Dad (Wozwolf) for all your advise and help over the last 4 years it has been invaluable. And your advise, help & Support Continues to be greatly appriciated

The journey started as most do by accident back in 2003 with The Eagles MCC's 2nd club birthday party at Ancaster. I was then an Eagles Mcc club member.

They had just brought a disco that had been stood in someones garage for a few years and this was the first time it was set up. A few people brought along some cds. and thats how the night started.

Back in those days I still drank alcohol, altho only what I brewed, in fact if memory serves me correct some of the concoctions we made that night started the idea of "Creatures famous brew" . but eventually the cds stopped and know one wanted to go and play some music, so of I went and figured out how it all worked and procceded to complete my 1st gig............. From there it all started and I found myself doing more and more djing for the Eagles MCC culminating in the 1st Swamp Donkey Rally in 2004.

Buy 2005 I had brought my own rig and branched out on my own. (But I continued to do Djing for the Eagles on there rig). I paid around £500.00 for it and to be honest it wasnt very good, but some friends booked me and I was on my way.

I soon learned a very expensive and valuble lesson, about how not to use disco equipment, and soon blew the cones out of all the speakers one night....

From that I soon started to learn that Djing wrongly can be a very costly business. in fact I had to sell my chop to fund a new disco rig.(As well as health issues) Luckily for me I found a great disco shop and after taking my blown rig to them they advised me that it was just not cost effective (or in some cases parts not available) to repair the rig. So we spent the next few hours testing bits of kit out and I came away with 4 speakers and a soundlab Amp. Little did I know then Just how much heartache and money I was gonna part with. I am sure if I had known I would have let the whole thing die then and there.

So with the new rig its off to its first booking...and what a difference, from this rig I found the lovely crisp sound I was looking for..

it wasnt long before I was again blowing cones in me top speakers, We later found out the soundlab amp was the cause and this was replaced with my first Peavey 1500 Amp. That and the speakers was to be the start of a continueing love hate relationship with Peavey, that is still ongoing now. It pretty much staid that way except I brought peavey 2600 to run the base bins. Then Paul (wozwolf asked if I would do there rally in the Marquee) for 2006 and I said yep. Then he told me what he wanted. Disco in middle of the marquee on a square stage with speakers on each of the 4 corners.....

Not a problem I went out and brought 4 more speakers and another peavey 1500 & 2600 amps and some more cabling and were there. Lighting I knew wouldnt be an issue as I have got lights ive never yet used.

And the Big Rig was Born. And it turned out pretty good in the end. A lot of work setting it up and making cables on the day,

but well worth it especially as there was an even spread of sound all around the marquee and the amps was not even being pushed

Then back again at Chris and Babs wedding anniversary

they asked for the big rig and they got it...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This time tho in a more conventional layout..

And thats pretty much again how it staid for a while. Then this year Mick got a full time job and my health got worse. And I just couldn't lift the amps and was struggling with the bass bins. So of I go again a brought a lightweight digital switchable amp and cut the rig down to 2 speakers. And on the whole used for much of this year with a pretty good success rate. Even on the rallies the rig has pretty much held its own, altho for the Welsh Show I did use the big rig. It could really do with a slightly bigger amp as in a few cases she has been flat out. but so far no complaints. and Ive mangaed to keep the sound that i want pretty much as well.

In fact it has proved a boon at many bookings this year including some rallies were room has been very tight. and being pretty light weight as well has helped me carry on this year.

And thats it really. I now have 3 rigs with loads of lighting to choose from, altho I have favoured the small right theres something about the sound with the big rig that keeps me from selling her.

I will list the equipment on another page in this room - when I get around to taking pics of it all...

Many thanks to everyone who has booked me and to those who continue to re-booked me. as well as those who help me setup & breakdown at bookings and especially to Paul (wozwolf) (& the Clubs who continue to support me) who has covered for me when ive been unwell enough to carry on...

Also to the many memebrs of The Mobil Disco Directory, who have answered my questions and offered the help and advise freely.

Am now available for bookings, parties, rallies, private bookings, rock nites 60's 70's, Rock N Roll Nights

Hi Mate,

It's a pleasure mate. We had a great time and Lyndon loved every second as a first gig with us. Hope everyone there enjoyed us. You'll have to let us know if any pictures of our set come to light, we'd love to see them.

Hopefully we'll see you again soon and if we have earned a return invite sometime we'd love to (and join the long list of bands wanting to do that, lol).

Take care.
