So it's been 6 years running now And it seems like we have progressed exactly as we always have… Manifesting explosions of chaos with soundscapes, sightscapes, and mindslides in an attempt to free us, and our loved ones, from physical routine and psychic unrest. Loved ones being anyone who has joined us in this musical undertaking, and helped us with listening, dancing, booking, designing, articulating, and creating ideas that make this band possible. So far it has worked out juuuuuuuuuust fine.

We've always tried to energize the uniformity of our culture with exciting spectacles, songs, scenarios and zany situations. The SCENE. We like to make a joke of it. We enjoy our company, and the company of everyone who comes with us. This band is really a creation of all of us. Everyone who has enjoyed our music at some point throughout this creative endeavor

So... as you've watched us grow, and change... Voices cracked, pimples cropped, hair grew in new and somewhat exciting places... we've tried to keep up with the times and our desire to create something fresh and original. We've done a lot since we were fifteen... We screamed and shouted... recorded three full-length albums... Toured the U.S. with our friends and mentors... Rebelled against authority... killed our parents... Crashed a party of monsters... hung out with a killer gorilla... Had many slumber parties... yea wattatata... all the while sitting... in a car... with nothing to do... Wishing we had a guitar to play.

But now we're in college And it's fun because we have learned the simpler pleasures of life, You know... debauchery and sin on the weekends while maintaining a steady job saying yes sir to men who make twenty times more than you for three times the work… all the while with a grim smile on your face. No complaints... no imagination. BOORRRRRINNNNGGGGGGGGG... It's tough to stay connected to that pure and beautiful voice welling up from your Lumbar vertebrae to your tongue and lips. Sharing ideas, experiences, music we love, and being apart of something Completely new and different is what keeps us connected to freedom.

So we've gone underground for a while... been keeping a low profile… Making people think we're broken up because this world is not as ripe for concerts as it was a few years ago. We all know the world is in a scary fooked up place at the moment... So the best thing to do now is keep your loved ones close And serve humanity with the intent to create peace. This is why we are not angry... Not like we were when we were fifteen.

So here we go again. We have nothing to sell... We are only entertainers. We are not advocating our music over anyone else’s We offer only a particular point of view Of which we all enjoy and Hope you will share with us.

THE DEK STORY

In biology, evolution is the process of change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms from one generation to the next. The genes that are passed on to an organism's offspring produce the inherited traits that are the basis of evolution. Mutations in genes can produce new or altered traits in individuals, resulting in the appearance of heritable differences between organisms, but new traits also come from the transfer of genes between populations, as in migration, or between species, in horizontal gene transfer. In species that reproduce sexually, new combinations of genes are produced by genetic recombination, which can increase the variation in traits between organisms. Evolution occurs when these heritable differences become more common or rare in a population.

Viewing DEK live is an experience all on it's own. Filled with surprises every song, their niche is definitely performance. Their lead hooks, intricate bass, elaborate drumming, and ceaseless rhythm will stop you dead in your tracks.

They have had the opportunities to share the stage with respected bands such as TSOL, Adolescents, The Skulls, DOA, The Dickies, The Briefs, Agent Orange, The Weirdos, Pennywise, Social Distortion, The Partisans, Angel City Outcasts, The Briggs, River City Rebels, as well as the Accused; have played dates on the Vans Warped Tour; traveled a great deal of the United States with the Skulls; West coast tour with the Adolescents, made great friends with many young bands from the west coast area, and have been nationally broadcasted on Comcast.

DEK has surely evolved over the years, and their drive to further expand has never ceased. They are constantly pushing themselves to make the kind of music that will be pleasing ears for years to come. Striving to be original in an unoriginal scene, DEK's sound is incomparable. Their next 2-part album release, the first half, "Lose Your Mind" will be conceived this winter and is the quintessence of what the world knows of DEK.
