2004: The male trio of De La Vega had already been concentrating for some time on writing and producing together. Sharing a history as the nucleus of the band Looplizard and with a link sideways to one-time Rock Rally finalists Orgasmaddix, JP (guitar), Ben Van De Velde (bass) and David Van Belleghem (drums) were in the process of laying the foundations of De La Vega. They recorded a mini-album with the song “Surely”, supercharged with sensual violin strokes longing for more. The single 'Surely' received airplay on almost every radio station, came with a classy video that went straight into high rotation on different TV channels in Belgium & abroad.
2005: The album 'Falling Into Place' which was released in March 2005 and contained the singles “Aspects Of You”, “Better Be Divine” and “Missing You”, considerably broadened the band’s horizon and renown. The band played every major concert stage in the country (including Rock Werchter & Pukkelpop). Ultimately DLV were presented with the Focus trophy for best newcomers at the ZAMU Awards show, the pinnacle of three years of hard work.
2006: The band did a tour in sold out theatres throughout Flanders. In Holland as well the band played a bunch of live concerts and finished playing live in September to start the preproduction of the new album. Meanwhile they also literally build their own recording studio.
2007: The band returns in March with a new and strong single LITTLE CLOUDS introducing the brilliant voice of Elke Bruyneel. Delavega have finished their second full album THE DAY AFTER during the summer of 2007. The album is out since October 19th in BELGIUM and since November in HOLLAND by PIAS.
2008: Delavega played a serie of concerts in Belgium and Holland, Previous hitsingles in Belgium (in both parts of Belgium) were LITTLE CLOUDS, ONE TIME and DANCE, BABY!
SPRING 2008: Delavega are now preparing for the Summerseason to play at some very nice festivals,
the 4th single from the album ON MY MIND featuring GUS, will be out in June in iTunes. GUS (known from De Hop, Studio Brussels weekly radioshow) wrote and performed the Rap, Mixmonster Menno provided the scratches on the DEF MIX, while Niko Westelinck (known as the winner from the dEUS remix contest) had provided a nice remix for ON MY MIND featuring GUS, DELAVEGA are ready to play at some of the finest festivals in Belgium and Holland this summer: Francofolies in Spa, Pole Pole at the Gentse Feesten, Villa Pace St Niklaas etc....check out the calendar...
After The Bony King of Nowhere took off last week with two sold-out release shows at AB and Vooruit, I am now very proud to announce that my first album "Alas My Love" is available in stores and on Itunes.
