About me:
In 2007, local filmmakers in El Paso, Texas decided to organize a film festival, a universal festival with film as its primary focus - DEL CORAZON FILM FESTIVAL. The film festival began as a one-day event fundraiser held at TWO TON CREATIVITY, an ad/marketing firm. A $25 ticket bought entry, food, drink and live music. Proceeds from the ticket sales went to filmmakers for projects that were frozen in production, awaiting financial backing. Although the organizers had only one month to prepare, organize, find sponsorships and sell tickets, the festival was successful with a full venue featuring seven selected films and one feature length film followed by a Q&A and live jazz. Seeing that the festival could be further developed and had plenty of resources with the interest of El Paso, Juarez and the regional southwest, the festival committee decided to expand the festival in 2008.
This year, the festival will be bigger, better and far more interactive, and versatile, involving all fields of art. There will be two film festivals, one for narrative and the other, a new addition this year, the REAL-REEL DOCUFEST, which will showcase independent documentaries. Also, added this year will be lectures and workshops in screen writing, producing, graphics & animation and digital editing. The festival will also host two art shows, one in Juarez and the other in El Paso as well as theater screenings of the feature length independent film and feature length documentary. An opening ceremony will be held for the filmmakers and sponsors of the DEL CORAZON FILM FESTIVAL, which will include a dinner with indigenous Mexican cuisine, live music and a model runway show featuring indigenous clothing from different regions of Mexico.
The objective is to see the DEL CORAZON FILM FESTIVAL grow larger, encompassing local, national and international raw talent, bringing El Paso and Juarez together in a bi-national festival incorporating all elements of art, music and film.

Who I'd like to meet:
En el 2007, se decide organizar un festival enfocado en el Cine Independiente en El Paso TX - ìDEL CORAZON FIELM FESTî. El primer festival en el 2007 se hace con la intención de ayudar a los cineastas participantes a recaudar fondos para proyectos que necesitaban distribución y promoción. El evento se llevo acabo en -Two Ton Creativity, una compañía de publicidad. El costo de entrada cubrió el costo del evento, que incluía ñ siete cortometrajes y una película larga, alimentos, bebidas y una banda de música en vivo de - Bossa-nova.
Viendo el éxito obtenido en el año pasado se ha decidido expandir el evento aun más; este año de 2008, el festival será mucho más grande, mejor y sobre todo interactivo en todos los medios de las artes visuales. Dentro del festival se incluirá otro festival: Real to Reel Docufest, un festival que mostrara documentales independientes. El festival estará en el Cinito, localizado en Cd. Juárez por primera vez, convirtiéndose en un festival internacional y no solo de la región sur-oeste de EEUU.
Otra faceta del festival son los talleres y lecciones que se impartirán durante los tres días del festival en: producción, animación y graficas, edición, y escritura. Estos talleres se darán tanto en El Paso como en Juárez por gente reconocida en el medio.
Por ultimo, tendremos dos exhibiciones de arte, una en Cd. Juárez y la otra en El Paso. El tema será con referencia al titulo del festival. También se llevara acabo un concurso para animar el logotipo del festival, el clip o animación en flash se usara como parte del comercial para la televisión.*
La ceremonia de apertura se llevara acabo el viernes 6 de Junio en El Paso, para los cineastas y patrocinadores del festival, el día 7 es la muestra de cortometrajes y la película estelar en El Paso y Juárez, día 8 se estarán mostrando documentales.
