Deleyaman is comprised of founder Aret Madilian, Beatrice Valantin, Gerard Madilian and Mia Bjorlingsson. A former member of an obscure post-punk, new wave band called "Wog" from the South Bay in Los Angeles, Aret Madilian's very first solo single in 1983 was recorded and produced by Spot, the producer and engineer of the influential independent punk record label SST Records (Black Flag, Minutemen, Hüsker Dü, Meat Puppets, Sonic Youth). Founded in 2000, Deleyaman is a four member band of different cultures and backgrounds - american, french, swedish and armenian. The band has released three albums to date while creating a unique sound. Their music is impossible to pigeon hole and is in a genre of its own. During the fall of 2001, Deleyaman released "00/1" the first of their three albums entirely recorded in a coastal rural village of Normandy, France. The following albums entitled "Second" (2003) and "3" (2006) have further defined the band's music.
The use of instruments like the duduk, the saz, the kementche or the def alongside the usual contemporary electronic instruments constitute a major part of their compositions.
Their ethereal soundscapes may create a psychedelic atmosphere for some, quasi-religious for others transporting the listener to realms within. The vocals at times come across as prayers or incantations and are sung in english, armenian, swedish and french.
Recent News : Deleyaman currently finished performing a series of concerts throughout California and will now be preparing their fourth studio album due out in early 2009.

Je comprends que c'est plus intéressant de faire des concerts aux Etats-Unis mais les petits français qui vous adorent attendent avec impatience au moins un concert en France :)
