This tutorial will teach you how to create this lovely pair of mosaic earrings. In this tutorial you will learn how to create coils without the use of tools, how to form a tear drop shaped frame and how to stitch beads to this frame to create a delicate mosaic look. This technique can also be applied to larger projects such as a pendant.

Only $7

This tutorial will teach you how to adapt the classic lace making technique known as ‘needle lace’ to create a netted bezel on any cabochon or stone of reasonable size. It is best to use a large stone or cabochon for your first attempt as it is easier to work with and save projects with smaller stones until you have gained a little practice with this technique.

Only $8.00

This tutorial takes a timeless lace making technique called ‘needle lace’ and applies it to wire working to create a delicate and highly detailed pendant. I have taught this lesson to a beginner wire worker with very good results. Based on this experience I assume that a beginner can complete this tutorial even though I rate it as an intermediate to advanced project.

Make your own Egyptian Coil Bracelet with this Tutorial! The Egyptian Coil technique is as ancient as the pyramids. During the excavation of an Egyptian tomb, a royal mummy was discovered with a necklace created with this technique. The original designers identity is lost in the sands of time but the technique remains a classic. While there is a very complex look to this bracelet is really fairly simple to construct. Add a framed bead clasp to update the look a little and you have this smashing bracelet! In this tutorial you will learn to make an Egyptian coil bracelet as well as the attractive framed bead clasp shown in the picture. Please note that the technique for the bead embellishments on the coil is not included in this tutorial.

Only $7!

Now you can make your own toggle clasps to coordinate with your handcrafted jewelry with this simple tutorial. These little beauties add impressive detail to any piece giving it a truly distinctive look. If you’ve ordered toggle clasps in the past, you know that they can cost several dollars each. Gold-fill toggle clasps are not only difficult to find, but they are especially pricey! With this tutorial you can make custom toggles to suit your project for literally a few cents each by utilizing scrap wire lying around on your bench. Impress your customers with your attention to detail!

Only $5.00

Phase two. Otherwise known as getting up the nerve to try my hand at the rainbow wrap style in silver. :) I'm pretty pleased with the results, though I know that I went a little nuts with the coiled spirals. :) All the spirals combined with the shape of this pendant make me think of the clouds. Hence the name 'Cloud Nine.' For more information on this piece, see my blog. Photobucket

I've been experimenting again ... this time I'm working on unlocking the mystery that is the style of the Rainbow Wrapper! Thanks go out to artist Felix of wiredoodles.com for offering pointers on how to begin with this work. For more information on this piece, check out my blog entry 'New Experiments in Wire Work.'

My name is Delia Stone. I am an award winning jewelry artist residing in Pensacola, Florida. I have been creating jewelry using cold connection techniques since late 1990. While I do not wear much jewelry by nature, I am absolutely driven to create it. I cannot explain this insatiable need to create jewelry, nor can I tame it.

While many consider wire wrapped jewelry to be second rate, I know better. I approach my work as an ART and strive to offer something more than the usual variety of wire wrapped jewelry.

I use ancient Egyptian, Phoenician, Peruvian, Grecian and other historic techniques in my work. You will find many textile techniques applied to my wire work as well, with basketry and lace making techniques being the most prominent.

My inspiration comes from many sources, most especially nature. I must also mention the women of this art who have influenced me in positive ways and keep me striving to extend myself creatively; Dana Kellin, Eni Oken, Magdalena and Lisa Claxton. They are my Escher, Monet, Dali and Rembrant and I am grateful for the inspiration I have received from them.

In addition to making jewelry I am also an instructor. I love helping others to tap their creative potential. I offer a variety of workshops locally, private instruction and for long distance learning I have online tutorials. For more information on my online tutorials, check out my website: www.DeliaStone.com. If you are interested in home workshop parties, home jewelry parties, private instruction or commissioning a piece, contact me direct at sales@DeliaStone.com.

I am also a participant in the Year of Jewelry Project with other jewelry artist from around the world, ongoing since 2004. Each week, we each submit a piece of our work to the YOJ gallery and offer each other feedback, tips, critiques and encouragement on our unending path to bettering ourselves as artists ... yes, artists. We are not just jewelry makers, hobbyist, etc. We consider what we do an art and we hold ourselves to a high standard. For more information on the YOJ Project, see my Creation Blog on my website or check out DeliasStones.blogspot.com/.

New Orleans
A courtesan,
not old and yet no longer young,
who shuns the sunlight that the illusion of her former glory be preserved.

The mirrors in her house are dim and the frames are tarnished;a
ll her house is dim and beautiful with age....
And those whom she recieves...come to her in an eternal twilight....
New Orleans...a courtesan whose hold is strong upon the mature,
to whose charm the young must respond.

And all who leave her?
Return to her when she smiles across her languid fan....
New Orleans.
