Rock music, lots of music, all kinds of music and dance, lots of dance, all kinds of dance!!! And big motorcycles!!! Since I set up this page some people have asked me about the dance bit (maybe a tattooed belly dancing Thin Lizzy loon is a bit of a weird mix?!) so I've added some more details to my page including the goddess that is Shakira. Seeing Shakira perform inspired me to bellydance so I think the lady deserves a mention on My Space! Plus I think Philo would've approved! :)))
Music
Thin Lizzy first and foremost, then in no particular order...
John Norum
This was the first cassette I ever bought with my own money - John Norum, Total Control - I was forever stealing my brother's Thin Lizzy records! I was 14 years old and inlurve with all the long haired lovelies of Europe and was gutted when John left the band. I had to order it especially at my local record store and felt so grown up! Twenty years on (oh God I suddenly feel ancient) and I've just replaced my old cassette with the CD that includes Wild One as a bonus track. Happy days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Led Zep
Bruce Springsteen
Van Halen
Rory Gallagher
Guns n Roses
Glyder
Velvet Revolver
Foo Fighters
Tenacious D
Amazing live performances I've been lucky enough to see include Guns n Roses at Slane, Robert Plant, past members of Thin Lizzy at the 10th anniversary Vibe for Philo at the Point and Billy Idol.
For shimmy purposes it's Shakira and the likes of Lailet Hob (by Mimi Spencer and Mary Ellen Spencer) and Tabi Tabi (by Ibrahim Tatlises) that feature on Bellydance Superstars (Ansuya and Belly Queen). Middle Eastern music, including amazing tabla drumming, duduk flute and my own noise of the zills, coins and bells as I dance!
I also do alot of hip hop bellydance so can end up dancing to anything from 50 Cent to Justin Timberlake. I know - this just gets more bizarre by the minute - you should see my iPod! ;))))
Movies
Proper films like Birdman of Alcatraz... the REAL Oceans 11... Oh Brother Where Art Thou? in fact all of the Cohen Brothers stuff. Ladri di Biciclette (thank God for subtitles!) I love period films, the costumes and drama! Then there's Analyse This... This is Spinal Tap... Still Crazy and School of Rock. All of Tom Hanks movies. Johnny Depp in everything especially Chocolat and Pirates. And My Boy - whenever that happens!
Television
Anything that makes me laugh out loud like Nevermind the Buzzcocks, Room 101 (with Paul Merton, NOT Nick Hancock), Bo Selecta, The Catherine Tate Show, lots of stand up comics...Billy Connolly, Lee Evans, Peter Kay and Tommy Tiernan make me laugh til I cry! But the late, great Dave Allen was the best. I have recently become addicted to Grey's Anatomy (I'm a late bloomer) and Heroes.
Books
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas - John Boyne, Toast - Nigel Slater (and all of his cook books...food porn! ;))
The Gift - Mia Dolan, The Master and Margarita - Mikhail Bulgakov (a work of genius - grazie Ding Dong :*),
Ballad of the Thin Man - Stuart Bailie, Soldiers of Fortune by the wonderful (and fellow Corkonian) Alan Byrne ;), John Peel by Mick Wall, all of Stephen King's stuff, anything by James Herbert and The Da Vinci Code and Digital Fortress by Dan Brown
Heroes
My Mum, the strongest, toughest chick I know. I am truly blessed. My niece Roisin for being an inspiration and a trooper since the day she arrived on the planet.
And the main Man, who gave both my mum and my niece a second chance at life...the Big JC. A miracle happened, prayers were answered. Forever grateful.
Last but by no means least...Philip Lynott for his poetry, passion & inspiration and for bringing together so many crazy people from all corners of the earth and uniting them through his music!
Thin Lizzy fan, dancer of the belly, salsa and burlesque kind, some friends describe me as a gay man trapped in a woman's body, but that's not an insult when it comes from gay men! Here's a random, useless fact about me, I can't say the word "elbow", I try but I fail, it always comes out as "envelope". My nine to five is a big yawn but I work on a freelance basis with bands and performers - old and new - managing gigs and tours. I'm a moderator on the Thin Lizzy - A Rock Legend fan site - http://www.thin-lizzy.info/ - you'll find me hanging out in the forum.
Music is my life, my family are my love, my friends are my backbone.
Who I'd like to meet: REAL people, so before you click the ADD button, check that you're REAL. Don't add me if you just want to up your friend figures, don't add me if your profile is set to private - I'm not going to consider you a friend if I know nothing about you, don't add me if you look at my page and we have nothing in common, I'll just click decline or do a massive cull later. I know what I like and I like what I know!
People I wish I'd met include the late great Philip Parris Lynott and my maternal grandfather. I would love a chance to meet Brian Robertson (properly) and Darren Wharton - that's all the Lizzy members I never got to meet. I wouldn't mind meeting any of the lads from Europe either just to tell them how much I LOVE their tribute to Philo! Enjoy...

Amy Winehouse - an amazing voice, huge talent, even bigger hair. Such a shame to see this girl throw her life away on drugs...
