After years of friendship and various musical projects, de los Muertos emerged from writing and jam sessions held in San Antonio, Texas in the fall of 2007. The brainchild of bassist J.G., these organic sessions proved his theory: Adding strong encouragement for individual contributions to a mix of friends from varied musical backgrounds results in "having a blast creating new music." The six Texicans' sound is a blend of honky-tonk, surf and blues pickin' guitar, and European and Texas punk, with a dash of Spanglish. Initially, performing live was an afterthought and recording existed simply to document a moment in time for this unique collective. However, as the months pass and more and more are witness to de los Muertos' unparalleled sound and live show, they've unwittingly invited audiences and colleagues to share in their original objective: to play music and have fun.
