Valentino: The Last Emperor, produced and directed by Matt Tyrnauer, Special Correspondent for Vanity Fair magazine, is an intimate and engaging fly-on-the-wall exploration of the singular world of one of Italy's most famous men. The film documents the colorful and dramatic closing act of Valentino's celebrated career, tells the story of his extraordinary life, and explores the larger themes affecting the fashion business today. At the heart of the film is the unique relationship between Valentino and his business partner and companion of 50 years, Giancarlo Giammetti.

The Fashion Club is a student organization that is part of the Fashion Program at San Joaquin Delta College. The Club hosts semi-annual events such as the Art & Gift Fairs and the Nearly New Sale. Each year, the Club travels to New York to tour the fashion industry, meeting with industry professionals from Henri Bendel's, Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade and others. This year, students will be traveling to Paris and London to explore the international world of fashion!

The Fashion Club at Delta College is hosting is popular semi-annual Nearly New Sal on Friday,
November 13th from 10 am to 5 pm. The sale features new and barely
used clothing, shoes, and accessories for men and women of all sizes
and ages, as well as home decorations like lamps, vases, urns, candles,
frames, Christmas ornaments and decorations, and more for prices that
start as low as $1.
The
students in the club seek unwanted inventory from local and regional
retails stores and designers and organize the hall into a store for one
day, selling brand-name merchandise at garage-sale prices. We’ve
received donations from Galetti’s and CR Porter in Lincoln Center; Wish
List, With Garden Flair and Bella Bridal on the Miracle Mile; Maxine’s
Bridal in Stockton; Pret and City Girl in Lodi; and Weston Wear and Cut
Loose in San Francisco; as well as from personal donors who have

on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the afternoon at Warren Atherton Auditorium
Shown around the world to wide acclaim, VALENTINO THE
LAST EMPEROR is a feature film that has captured the hearts and
imaginations of audiences. It is a behind-the-scenes look at the world
of fashion, featuring unprecedented access to the high temples of Haute
Couture. The legendary Valentino is the star of the film, along with
his longtime business partner, Giancarlo Giammetti. VALENTINO THE LAST
EMPEROR follows them for the final two years of their careers, and
shows the struggles the two men face as they confront the final act of
a nearly 50-year career at the top of the world's most glamorous and
competitive game. The struggle of art against commerce is at the center
of the film. In the end, however, the story proves to be not one about
money or expensive clothes, but about love.
