   About Delta Wave Underground
Releases:

DWU Compilation 2008
Download the first compilation.

Synthia/Given Willingly Split

Download the Split release of Synthia and Given Willingly named "I Am A Beta Fish, I Am A Pirate Ship". 35 minutes of music constantly shifting between uplifting electro/techno and relaxing ambient/downtempo.

ET/GFAL Split

Download another split release. This time it's the two rather obscure artists "Evil Toaster" and "Golfing For A Living". If you are into any kind of noise, e-grind, weird electro, fast, loud IDM this is something for you. If you don't like any of that or didn't even understand what I just said here's your chance to get into that kind of music. "We Drove For Miles Before Realizing He Was A Zombie" is as unrelenting, humorous and sometimes cheesy as the title predicts. While GFAL provides you with trashy blast beats, detuned synths and samples to cling onto, Evil Toaster is just complete weirdness leaving you hanging in mid-air wondering why your temples are throbbing like hell. This is outsider music for an outsider culture, highly undanceable (with a few exception being highly danceable). Note: there's no vocals in this so don't be disappointed if there's no br00tal screams and vicious growls but there's some samples here and there. For fans of Ganglia, The Pre-School Tea Party Massacre, Aphex Twin if he had shitty equipment^^

SETI - Anyone Listening

Download "Anyone Listening" By SETI is a real treat for all fusion, jazz and lounge fans but also simply for fans of good music. SETI's unique style features lots of pianos, extensive guitar solos and vocals which are added subtly to the music but still remain compelling. SETI is obviously a great musician and songwriter but what really keeps me listening to this release is the sheer passion for music and great melodies. You have no excuse not to download this, sit back and get inspired.

Evil Toaster GUI-px3

Download Evil Toaster - GUI-px3

So... what's there to say about a release like GUI-px3? If you are in any way familiar with Evil Toaster's work you know what to expect. Only this time the music is a lot more complex, filled with odd rhythms and YES: Lots of bleeps and scratches. If you don't have any idea what Evil Toaster's music sounds like... well... it's like everything that is wrong with modern pop music, intensified and used as a weapon. Like Timberland had freaking chainsaws instead of arms. Yeah... cool... Seriously, it's just fun to listen to and it's avant-garde without being stuck-up (oxymoron?).

Abstract Thinking - Night Sounds

Download Abstract Thinking - Night Sounds

Night Sounds is an (harmonic; not dark) ambient album. Night Sounds is a really good ambient album. What makes it so good is the fact that it doesn't simply rely on endless pads and gentle drones. Those are there, of course but there's also lots of tiny little details like arpeggios, synth chord progressions or just noise in the background. In consequence there's (at least) two ways to listen to this album. You can put it on just to relax and maybe fall asleep to but you can also concentrate on the music and appreciate the thoughtful compositions. That's the great thing about this and any other good ambient release: It doesn't force you to pay attention but if you do it is rewarding.

Gothick - Evokation Ov Hadit

Download Gothick - Evokation Ov Hadit. This is the secod album of what I believe is going to be a trilogy. Anyway, by itself this album is quite a trip. There's lots of psychedelic and almost esoteric sounds and lyrics. Gothick's vocals are siginfacantly lower than in his previous album, they sound pitch-shifted but I'm not sure. Anyway the low tone makes them seem otherworldy like a prophecy from a being beyond life and death. They are emotional though but not in a classifiable sense. The music, sometimes guitar- sometimes synth-based, always has this pre-millenium vibe when things weren't as polished as today. This does not mean the production is lacking. It's an interesting mix between anolgue guitars and electronic drums and synths with everything in the right place. If you are the kind of person who likes band comparisons: It's like Syd Barret-Pink Floyd meets Nine Inch Nails with lots of guest musicians.

Always & Never - The Beauty Of Imperfection

Download Always & Never - The Beauty Of Imperfection. Lately I've been introduced to the genre of ambient folk by Aidan baker. Well, I'm not sure if always and never sees himself as such an artist but his music definetly bears features of both genres. Most of this album is (acoustic?) guitars and vocals. It's just perfect that way. It sounds pretty rough but this just adds to the emotional feeling created by the honest music. Especially the vocal delivery is absorbing. Eric B.'s vocals remind me of those of Craig B. (coincidence?), the (ex-) vocalist of the great Aereogramme. This release is honest, calm, modest... anti-pop. Also: the silence after "father" was made on purpose.

Jean Chalet - From This Barren Sea It Will Grow

Download Jean Chalet - From This Barren Sea It Will Grow. Finally... It took me way too long to get this release up that stuck in my head for so long. Jean Chalet (a.k.a. Ava) has created something that makes the impossible possible. It's both highly catchy and highly experimental. The whole music revolves around Ava's apt (e-)piano & synth playing and her amazing, soulful voice. Though she claims to never really have listened to gospel music her style of singing always reminds of that kind of music. Anyway, I am 100% sure there's at least one song on this album for everyone. May it be the catchy tracks like Rise and Fall or What I Need or the experimental work like the soundscape/ethnic-rhythm/whatsoever track Keeshmeesh. This song made me wish she would make a whole new album like this. My favourite though is the amazing vocals-only track Stolen which blew me away the first time I heard it (for the DWU compilation). So pick your favourite track and go tell her. So don't wait any longer, download this wonderful release full of clever ideas and joyful music.

Synthia - Fun Police

Download The Fun Police. What's there to say, when a name says it all? Synthia will make sure that you'll have a good time with all the power of the fun law. They do that by giving electro music back what it lost along the way. The childish playfulness, the innocence needed to break down barriers and do things differently. The result is a highly enjoyable mix of minimal techno, catchy melodies, grooving drum machines and all synth sounds from the last 40 (just check the 80 synths in "To The Future" and you'll know what I mean) years. All that is held together by a clear production that gives every melody and harmony enough space behind the 4-2-da-floor drums (mostly... I mean it's still fucking TECHNO!). I have my favourites but I'll let you find you own ones. This release is a must for all Techno fans, fans of fun music and also fans of experimental music that's still danceable (sometimes called IDM... I refrain from that term since Synthia would probably laugh at me if I called what they do intelligent). Have it, love it, give it dirty names.

Greetings
Do excuse the 'spam', but I have three new songs up on the page, each from a different upcoming album.

One from the sleepers / hellmouth split, which will be out in the next few weeks on cassette from Marygarden Tapes.

One from the first full length Sleepers album (along with the other two 'untitled' songs), also coming out on Marygarden, but on CD.

One from the collaboration album between Sleepers and Jason "EVIL" Covelli, with all words and voice by Jason, and all sounds and editing from myself.

I have been working endlessly on new material for Sleepers, and I am very excited for the progression of this project. I believe it may have even taken over Bicycle Sighs' place as my 'main' project. A lot of the albums listed on the page are still seeking homes, but I do believe I will be able to maintain a solid and consistent output, as Sleepers has unlocked something deep inside of my mind.

I am, as always, still seeking out new collaborators, in aural, literary, and visual additions.

The Jesus Fish Experience: Songs Of Protest, War, & Hate

Download it here: http://www.archive.org/details/ARGREC03

The debut album by The Jesus Fish Experience for Argali Records, "Songs Of Protest, War, & Hate" is the overall sound and experience of Interesting Specimen's continued exploration of claustrophobic soundscapes, equally inspired by early post-rock, industrial, and krautrock pioneers. Despite being uneasy listening, it is also simultaneously fascinating and powerful. Also featuring, at points, the talents of Ether Drift, Rusted Spheres, and Terra Engine.
