Del The Funkyhomosapien, Del Diablo Diabolique (That's Me), Deltron Z 3030, that's all (4 now)
Influences
I have many, but the main ones are The Funkmob, Parliament-Funkadelic. Bootsy's Rubber Band is a very close second. George Clinton and Bernie Worrell are very influential. As far as hiphop is concerned, I'm influenced by all dope lyricists, and I stay hip to whatever's happening to me, whether it's underground hardcore or pop. It's all music to me, but it helps if it has some kind of funk or swing to it. Jazz is a very heavy influence, as far as composition and playing in general.
Sounds Like
My sound is Del's own sound, but I got a wide range of influences! Nowadays, though, I definitely try to keep it Black and funky. Anything after that is fine, but those secret ingredients gotta be present, but I'm all-inclusive, meaning it don't matter what color you are or what you may be into. I feel that anyone could get into my work because I actually hang out with all kinds of people and it all goes into what I do in some way. But genre-wise, my stuff sounds like late '70s funk/soul, for the most part, you may hear synths every now and then, but don't confuse it with the sound that the Bay is known for typically, although it's related. I'm also into real dead-on staight-ahead hiphop jammies, too, so you can find that in me too.
"Already a legend, on 11th Hour, Del takes a bold step toward complete mastery of the hip hop art form." - XLR8R
"11th hour is another is another addition to Del's innovations, challenging the notions of what hip hop is supposed to be." (4 out of 5 stars) - YRB
"The Homosapien is one hell of an entertaining MC, with constantly fascinating and thought provoking lyrics" - SLAP magazine (4 out of 5 stars)
"With his new album you can expect the same lyrical prowess from this hip-hop veteran that had hardcore hip-hop fans satisfied in the 90's" - DUB Magazine
"Everything you want out of Del: adventurous off-kilter production and smart rhymes." - PLAYBOY
Hailing from Oakland, California, Del and his crew, the Hieroglyphics came out as a markedly non-gansta response to a burgeoning West Coast scene. After being put on at the tender age of 17 by his cousin Ice Cube, Del released two records on Elektra, I Wish My Brother George Was Here (1991) and No Need For Alarm (1993). Despite record sales in the hundreds of thousands, he recorded a third album, Future Development, which was never commercially released.
Del parted with Elektra and started work on the Hieroglyphics family album, 3rd Eye Vision (Hiero Imperium, 1998). Hiero went on the road and toured incessantly in support of the album for much of 1998. Del also spent a good portion of his time drawing, practicing Japanese, and playing mass amounts of video games.
Finally ready to unleash a new record on the world, Del comes with BOTH SIDES OF THE BRAIN. Seventeen tracks of pure Del. He says of his work on this album I've had complete control." At times, Del has felt restrained by the formulas in hip hop and the expectations fans place upon emcees who have had hits. "I wish that I had the same freedom that someone like Bjork has when she puts out an album..." Apart from collaborations with PrincePaul, El-P (Company Flow), and help from a few of his Hiero co-horts (A-plus, Casual, Domino) Del handled the majority of production on this album.
By staying true to himself, Del has earned legions of adoring fans. He may have said it best in his classic, "Mistadobalina" when he declared, "it's all in the mind and the heart." Indeed.

Productos BMM presents:
BMM 33 Tantrum Light LSD Island EP with the remixes of Paul Hunter, Da Trash & Zimaleto Genre: Minimal, Techno, Tech-House.
Some comments: Carsten Rausch: The Da Trash Remix is a cool piece of percussive Techno. I will definetely play that. Dave James: Yeh I like the original trippy vocals. Galuszka: Tantrum Light offers a track that is straight up techno. The mood of the original mix is very Terminator 2 (Judgment Day) in its vocal work and sound choice. The remixes of this project ad funk, especially the Da Trash remix with it's rolling quality. Bodgan Taran: I just love the melody on Zimaleto remix of LSD Island. The Reddman: I listened all the remixes and was very impressed! I have to say I just loved the Paul Hunter remix of the LSD Island track. There was something about it that just kept the groove going for me. Moog Conspiracy (Elektrotribe / Buena Onda): I ll play Tantrum light - Da Trash remix. Marc Fuccio (Fresh DJS): Favoutite mix is Paul Hunter remix. Wicked groove of a bass line that instantly got me to my feet. Great production and construction. Graeme Park: I really like the Zimaleto Remix of Tantrum Light's LSD Island. Such a great groove. <a href="//www.beat
