About me:

I work & sleep. When I'm not doing that, I'm usually spending time with my fiancee and beautiful son. Other than that, I spend all my free time listening, playing, and reading about music. There is never enough time to jam. I enjoy playing guitar, bass, piano, and drums. I hope to learn how to play violin and sitar. I would also like to invest in vintage synthesizers and effects. I try to have a really open mind. Lately, I've been into early 70s obscure psychedelic blues rock. I've discovered a lot bands such as Captain Beyond, Bang, Dust, Toad, Sir Lord Baltimore, Masters Apprentices, and May Blitz. I've also been really digging some 1960s jazz, 1970s funk, and some classic dub/reggae selections. Some of the newer stuff I'm into: ISIS, Pelican, Ufomammut, Mastodon, Intronaut, Melvins, Goatsnake, Brant Bjork, Grails, YOB, Cavity, Sloth, High On Fire, Acid King, Black Cobra, Iota, Egypt, Om, Quest For Fire, Smoke and Feathers, Lowrider, Greenleaf, Autolux, and many more.

I play bass in Face on Mars, a creation of my friend, Drew Kern. The best way I can describe it is heavy psychedelic metal with elements of groovy classic rock combined with the sound of loud spacey sludge. Our main collective influences are: Melvins, Kyuss, QOTSA, Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Pink Floyd, Sleep, Grand Funk Railroad, Mountain, ZZ Top, Big Business, Fu Manchu, and The Obsessed. Last year I engineered, mixed, and produced our demo EP. CHECK IT OUT HERE. We'll be at THE TAVERN on HALLOWEEN with Before I Hang & The Early Graves plus a Roky Erickson tribute performance!

I have a few influences in my bass playing, particularly my tone. They are: Justin Chancellor (Tool), Paul D'Amour (Tool),Jeff Caxide (ISIS), Scott Reeder (Kyuss), Mike Inez (Alice In Chains), Audie Pitre (Acid Bath), John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Cliff Burton (Metallica), Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Mel Schacher (Grand Funk Railroad), Al Cisneros (Om, Sleep), Tim Commerford (Rage Against the Machine). I'm all about AMPEG, SUNN, & ACOUSTIC CONTROL amps. I love fuzz, MORLEY wahs, and basically any modulation/delay effect.
