hi hats, vino and mr owen
InfluencesExistentialism, Country music, putting on gigs ourselves, Sartre, Camus, polysics, fwd russia, atdi, Johnny Cash, Capdown, Elvis, Hazmat Modine, Guy Clarke, Tom Waits, Townes V.Zandt Malt Whisky, Absinthe, Hollywood Sky, Tom Waits and Electro acoustic music, Cage and Glass. can i say uffie too? Sky Larkin, the thermals, the research, Sebadoh, seafood ... manic street preachers, whisky.... tequilla..limeand of course dirty hyde park pizza's (ask us we'll recomend you a good en)
Sounds Like a “self confessed car crash of Northern Indie pop punk”, with song titles such as “Fat single, and ready to mingle” “sandwiches” and the highly political dance floor filler “Hang the terrorist”. Every gig is a massive party, full of frenzy, passion and their struggle of belief which is reflected in their seriously lyrical undertones. ''some people say this sounds like we have lost our minds, they are probably right'

Predominantly instrumental music with simalarities to bands such as American Football and Make Believe.

Angular, intense but ultimately anthemic mathy rock.

Saturday May 31st at Cafe Saki

goFASTER>>

Like fellow Liverpudlians Hot Club De Paris...with bouncy, choppy riffs and a very much danceable rhythm, synths swirl like a demented fairground ride while the boys perform fantastic, sing along harmonies. MAKE NOISE AND DANCE

Elks

Jerky post hardcore pop complete with rousing manic vocals. a bitn like Fugazi and Charlottefield FOOTBALL

Rotary Ten

Latest signings to Xtra Mile (home of Dartz!)
"'If The Smiths had gone to college in the US this might have been their sound. Complex, melodic guitar entwines with an 'anthemic' chorus. Possible classic.' The Observer

Beat The Radar

"catchy vocal melodies with precise backing vocals on top of angst guitar and clever drums create a package for success" SANDMAN MAGAZINE

Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire
A Fire Born In Dallas
PFTPR001

1. A Fire Born In Dallas
2. Wolverine Figurine
3.
A Fire Born In Dallas (Razmataz Lorry Excitement remix)

Available now on limited edition mini 3" CD or via digital download:

iTunes
Amazon MP3

Either follow the links above or search "Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire" on iTunes.

"Produced by ¡Forward, Russia!'s Tom Woodhead, debut single A Fire Born In Dallas (released on the Pay For The Piano imprint) finds post-hardcore and prog influences welded together to create a sound that is both vulnerable and self-assured. Admittedly, the usual influences of Fugazi and At The Drive-In are worn pretty obviously, but the band are far more than mere copyists.

Indeed, at their single launch they offered an intense and impassioned performance, with snare cracks and upstrokes reverberating around the venue.

Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire, it would seem, have more than enough firepower in their sonic arsenal to kick some of the music world's feted young pretenders into touch.

F O O T B A L L presents on Saturday 23rd February at Cafe Saki...

Itch
"Itch are quite breathtakingly, pant-twitchingly awesome. Songs stop, start, fall over themselves, kick themselves up the arse, explode into cataclysmic bursts of energybefore suddenly veering off into seemingly irreconcilable tangents that seamlessyly reconcile themselves within the space of a few minutes" LeedsMusicScene.Net
Influences include American Football and Cursive

Arms At Last
"Arms At Last sound like what would happen if Dartz! and Hot Club De Paris had an affair." FuckingDance.blogspot.com

Spokes
Beautiful epic post rock. Album of the month on BoomKat.com

Chrik
make energetic tunes with just drums, cymbals, a guitar and a loop pedal.

Followed by a bit of a party to the likes of Sam Cooke, Why?, Otis Redding and Subtle.
The Moor Music Festival

Jan 22 2008 4:17 AM

It seems like years since the last Moorfest happened and to be honest I think the weather was very much a factor in whether people enjoyed themselves or not. Some thrived in the mud whilst others wept until their dads could pick them up. Moorfest is still carving an identity for itself and in the three years that it has been established I think I can say that the one thing that most people love about it is the friendly atmosphere, and this gig is a good opportunity to meet up with friends that perhaps you haven't seen since the festival, to make new friends, enjoy quality music, get a flavour of Moorfest if you haven't already been and also to talk to the organisers in order to give your opinions on how to improve the festival.
We'll also be projecting your favourite photos that you've taken from previous Moorfests to create a live mashup that will adorn the walls of the Brudenell so please send them to bandsformoorfest@yahoo.co.uk and make sure that everyone in the picture is cool for you to use them like this.

There'll be much more to boot like gorgeous organic food, t-shirt stall, films and raffles to win tickets to Moorfest 4 which we're working on right now and aim to make it the best yet.

We really appreciate your continued support in making Moorfest what it is and hope to see you all there.

Team Moorfest x
