Although the films may have ended their film festival run...stay tuned, because the story of Demeter is far from over.
"Demeter" and "Demeter: Surrender" is a short film series centered around the character from the hit Detroit sci-fi series "Inzer0" from Thought Collide Productions. Set in the same post-apocolyptic world as the series, the short allows the viewer a peek into the life of Demeter - a character described on the show as tough, brilliant and completely psychotic.
However, perception is everything - nothing is ever as it seems.
Demeter has quickly gained a following as the character people love to watch.. like a traffic accident... you know you shouldn't look.. but....
The short also introduces elements from Demeter's past including Nalos- her one time mentor in her former life, and Daphene - the equally brilliant woman who shares a past with Demeter. The two remind us- the line between love and hate, power and surrender is often razor thin.
Starring Rio Scafone as Demeter, Yanni Kuznia as Daphene, Jason Grasl as Nalos, Mike Petersen as Meran, and Sean Harris as Daniel.
Both films: Key Hair and Makeup: Karri Farris. Executive Producer Matthew Peach. Cameras: Mike Madigan and Matthew Peach. Written and Directed by Mike Madigan.
Based on characters and setting created by Jamie Sonderman for the sci-fi series "INZER0" by Thought Collide Productions.

PS. TWO GUITAR PLAYERS WANTED... Make That One Now!!!
The new material we are working on will have a guitarmony sound and will require three players. We are looking for one player who lives in the Detroit Metro area.
What we are looking for:
1. Age 18 to 27 2. Must be a great player. 3. Studio and Live experience a plus. 4. Style of music is pop/rock/alternative/punk 5. Style is a cross between 30 Seconds To Mars, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Muse, Garbage, and The Used with strong commercial appeal. 6. Lead or Backing vocal capabilities a plus. 7. Ability to write guitar parts for existing melody lines. 8. Must have time to make a commitment and be available for studio and live shows. Currently rehearsals are scheduled on Sunday between 1:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. 9. Will require learning a certain amount of filler cover material. 10. If you have drug or alcohol related issues this probably wouldn't work for you.
A label showcase is scheduled for late February - so time is of the essence.
If you or someone you know is what we are looking for. Please let me know so we can set up a studio audition.
1. It's a story of love and lust and violence and greed and well, just about all of the Seven Deadly Sins, all in a 15-minute movie. Except sloth, because, frankly, they haven't got time for sloth.
2. If you look up "hot redhead" in the dictionary, there will probably be a picture of Yanni Kuznia, who plays Daphene.
3. If you look up "gorgeous Renaissance chick" in the dictionary, there will probably be a picture of actress-photographer-writer Rio Scafone, who plays Demeter.
(DISCLAIMER: Your dictionaries probably won't actually have entries for "hot redhead" and "gorgeous Renaissance chick". It's a figure of speech. But if there were dictionaries that did have entries like that, they would have pictures of Yanni and Rio. Trust me on this.)
4. Sean Harris, who plays Danny, is, in addition to being a very believable corpse, a outstanding bass player (according to the music on his MySpace page), a very good cook (according to Ms. Scafone) and extremely attractive (according to my wife after seeing his picture).
5. Sonja Ribicki is brilliant in her three seconds of screen time as Raimi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll hope you didn't blink.
6. The chase scene adds a new item to the list of "Things I Learned Not To Do From Horror Movies", which is "If you are being chased through an abandoned warehouse, and you find some boxes to hide behind, DO NOT reveal yourself just as the chaser gets there. If you do, she will find you, and you will have to jump off a 17-story balcony. You should instead stay hidden until she runs PAST YOU, then go in the other direction."
6b. Actually, there's another new item for the list: "If you corner the person you are chasing, and they throw something into the air, DO NOT watch it. If you d
