About me:
"The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanely sensitive. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create -- so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, their very breath is cut off... They must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency they are not really alive unless they are creating." - Pearl Buck (1892 - 1973)Demi'urge is a slave to her mind's tongue. Her words are the simple, complicated reactions to the urge to create a platform for her emotions, thoughts and obligation to create with words. Since the age of thirteen, when she first picked up a pen and was told to "write what you feel", she has taken every chance she can get to spit out all the language of her mind. From writing on scraps of paper, to writing in endless notebooks hidden under school books, to writing online and on mobile phones, she has been an addict for the word for nine years so far. She has a passion for both music and writing, music being her biggest influence and inspiration to her writing, in addition to life. Born and raised in the south of Queens in New York City, this 22-year-old Puerto Rican Renaissance woman dabbles in music production, photography, journalism, web design, and blogging. She has received an Associates of Applied Science degree in Music Electronic Technology at CUNY Queensborough Community College and is pursuing her Bachelors of Arts degree in Journalism with a concentration of Creative Writing at CUNY Brooklyn College. Though she hopes to one day become a published poet and writer, her main goal in life is to teach others, especially young, aspiring writers, the power of creating poetry. Being a young, bisexual woman in the arts, coming from a poor family background, she is an advocate for the arts, education, gay rights, and the aid of lower class families. Her hope is not to touch millions with the power of one word, but to touch one with the power of a stream of words.
