If you’re interested in the intensity of being burned by a flamethrower then you should turn your face toward the likes of DEMIA, where you’re sure to be burned and scorched and overthrown by their full-frontal invasive force power that is Insidious.
Review by Samuel Munch-Petersen | Live4Metal.com
DEMIA in its essence is a combination of the dark and the beautiful, the demonic and the divine elements of music released with a violent passion and a binding need to communicate that raw energy unto the world. This Amsterdam based band is an ensemble of musicians who have made their presence felt for quite some time in the underground metal scene with their brutally energetic and critically acclaimed live performances. Formally known as Cancelled (CND), in the first half of the new millennium they changed it to DEMIA to usher in the year of the dog and to celebrate evolving and advancing to new levels with the completion of their first full-length and Scarlet Records world wide debut album Insidious. The album was produced by Logan Mader (Machine Head / Soulfly) and Lucas Banker (Junkie XL) of Dirty Icon (DevilDriver, Divine Heresy, Cavalera Conspiracy, Roadrunner United). DEMIA has thrashed stages all over Europe and did some wild gigs in the USA as well. They’ve destroyed the stages and moshed with the audience at some of the biggest festivals here in Europe: Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Fields of Rock, EuroSonic and many smaller festivals. They toured with the Eastpak Horror Scope Tour and the Converse Choose Your Weapon Tour here in the Netherlands and did two full European Tours with Pro Pain, Illdisposed, Deadsoil and Zuul FX. They also trashed the stage with numerous leading bands like Cavalera Conspiracy, Ill Niño, God Forbid, (HED) p.e., Volbeat, Caliban, HateSphere, Dagoba, Machine Made God, Prong and many more.
