Demian Bell & The Maypole Blues Band is more than just a Blues Band. Typical does not describe them as they play highly original music in various genres that they brilliantly meld together to form their unique High energy emotion packed performance they call "Modern Blues". Their unique versions of classic Blues songs are done as if the were the ones who were doing them for the first time, fresh exhilerating and exciting. All the elements of traditional Blues are there and something more that cannot be described, it must be heard and felt.The Band sometimes plays as a trio,but often times as a quartet.

Demian Bell wurde in Chicago geboren und wuchs in Maryland, Ohio, England und Kalifornien auf. Ein in Europa weit bekannter Gitarrist der den Sound des Blues zur Verbreitung und Geltung brachte. Im laufe von 28 jahren lebte und spielte er in Holland,England,Deutschland,Spanien,Jamaica,Frankreich und der Schweiz, sowie in den USA. Kein Tiefpunkt konnte seine Arbeit stoppen, Er gab niemals sein Talent, sein natürliches Improvisieren und sein hart verdientes Gefühl für den blues auf. Wenn er seine "Black Beauty", seine Guitarre spielt, tut er dies mit einem gefühl reiner Emotion und Energie. Nie spielt er die stücke im gleichen Stil. Jede Aufführungen sind ein Unikat. Seine Musik ist direkt, unverfälscht und kommt aus dem bauch. Man kann Demian mit einem Zigeuner vergleichen, jederzeit bereit das Land zu wechseln und in fremden Ländern, Abenteuer in Sachen Musik zu suchen. Demian teilte die Bühne mit solchen Grösen wie "Albert Lee,Lulo Reinhardt, (Neffe des legendären Django Reinhardt) Zigeuner blues Gitarrist und sänger der 20.er jahre und Diego Cortez aus Spanien. Neulich (Nov.2007) stand er sogar mit Tony Sheridan auf der Bühne, dem legendaeren Rocker der mit den Beatles als begleitband in den fruehen 60ern viele hits hatte (My Bonney/Skinny Minni). Jetzt nach vielen Jahren kommt er zurück auf die Bretter, die die Welt bedeuten. um mit Volldampf den Blues noch einmal zu wecken und zu erneuern. Besser als je zuvor....

How's the world's greatest rocker tonight? (Ok, I may be a slight bit manic, I admit it - enjoy it while it lasts.) I hope the changes you mentioned last year are all good for you. As for me, I'm dealing with legal psychotics in courtrooms and trying to keep my car running (do-it-yourself-style)... about the same as always, come to think of it.
From your comment I get the feeling you're in the midst of interesting times. (So what else is new, right?) I can relate to that. Lots of limbo still going on here, but that could change at any moment - to what, no one knows. But that's a whole lot better than certain disaster, isn't it?
