Formed during the first wave of NWOBHM by lyricist/vocalist Dave Hill and guitarist Mal Spooner, Chris Ellis, Les Hunt and John Wright they hooked up with Clay Records (Stoke On Trent) supremo, Mike Stone, in 1980, to release their first single, 'Liar'. Issued on blood-red vinyl, in a limited edition run of just 5000 copies, Liar marked the beginning of an incredible story spanning two decades - and counting. DEMON have had several Line-Up changes through the years due mainly to the death of Mal Spooner in 1984 (Dave Hill’s writing partner). DEMON are quite unique and hard to pigeon hole, the best way to describe their music is Melodic Rock with an edge and skilfully crafted songs, they now have 11 studio albums and 1 Live to Album date and have just recently released (OCTOBER 23rd 2006) a fantastic Double CD compilation of their music titled TIME HAS COME – THE BEST OF DEMON featuring tracks from every studio album to date.
