Formed in the hot long summer July '97, the 'upchucks (then comprising of alex, matt, dom and "smash" adams) played their first show in front of a group of angry students who had paid money to watch "Blue Monday", a sorrowful indie "band" who pulled out upon learning of the Demonic Upchucks debut.
Three songs into the set the power to the stage was cut, the bouncers circled us, the police were called and we were banned from our first ever venue. Smash left the band soon afterwards to form a close harmony barbershop quartet in Mallorca. Undettered. the 'upchucks soldiered on and were banned from many more venues, not just in Bournemouth but in Salisbury too.
Many more gigs followed and soon the 'upchucks had 4 songs released on Helen of Oi's "Punks Skins And Herberts Vol5". Recently crowned "the world's laziest rock'n'roll band" the upchucks hit back at accusations by recording more songs in October 04 and tirelessly playing every now and again in Bournemouth, London, Bristol, Southampton, Birmingham, Gillingham, Nottingham, Lotsofham and even Swaffham (or was it Swanage?) a hell of a lot of gigs and a hell of a lot more to come.
The Demonic Upchucks can usually be found playing sordid nightclubs, filthy little pub function rooms, hostile council estates and bouncy castles with all the other debaucherous Bomo Punk Rockers. il do it for two fry ups...with exra toast and a cider. onl drawback, no1 will lend me a car, dads car doesnt even have a complete engine and i cant a fford a car.
