Just for your listening enjoyment with Music A man is owned by John Lear of Nansemond County, Virginia. He is born in 1685, making his family one of the earliest family history of All African descent. John Demaree, sued for his freedom, which a stand, and won, and came out the courtroom, a free man. He bought land, and some his family ever voted as early as 1763. John Demaree set the standard for his family in the 18th Century and the freedom of his entire family becoming one of the earliest free families in North Carolina and the United States. From the five children of Bridget and John Demaree came the family we know as Demaree. The family continued to grow as people such as Shadrack and Joseph Demory were born. With the marriage to Sarah Mitchell, they had about five children, Robert, Adriana, Darcus, Alay, Monkey, and Shade. The oldest daughter Adriana Demory marriage George Rawls and had over 12 children. Their daughter, Minnie married Rev. Jessie Burton Parker, and had four children. The eldest daughter, Emma Elizabeth Parker, married a man named Dorphus Gary, and had fifteen children. She was Africa-American. He was Native American, and Irish, she was Nigerian. The third eldest child was Roger Gary, my grandfather one is my mother's father.
