About me:
More reviews, news, features and artists coming soon...

Here's a little about those involved with Demos Reviewed. For all reviews look in the blog section of the page.

Ollie spent 3 years contributing to the music section of the DeMontfort University paper 'The Demon', including a role as joint editor for a year. Arranged a successful gig in April 2005 at the Students Union, working in conjunction with, amongst others, The Leicester Mercury and bbc.co.uk/leicester. Since then he was the head booker at 2oothpaste for nearly 2 and a half years, and has helped to arrange such nights as 'Rock/Paper/Scissors' in Leicester.

Joel is a DJ with the hugely successful Mosh chain, playing cutting-edge indie in Leicester and Derby. In addition, he runs Fox Like Me Music, based in Leicester, looking after the talents of a number of local artists, and has also put on and promoted a number of gigs.

Matt was a contributor to the De Montfort University student newspaper 'The Demon' for a number of years, and has a real passion for emerging bands

Claire and Sam co-host Demon FM show 'Unscripted', bringing the best in new and unsigned music, having profiled the likes of The Tea Monkeys and Luke Leighfield in the past. Their eye for talent earmarks their reviewed bands as some of the best we have heard.

George is a seventeen year old with high ambitions to write in the music press. While studying A-Levels in a bog standard Comp, he is juggling writing gigs with Time For Heroes magazine and Demos Reviewed, while also finding time to start producing his own radio show. He has interviewed Ormondroyd, Dark Sparks and Look See Proof and is always on the lookout for the next big thing, whatever style it is.

Marie is another who has contributed to the DMU student newspaper before, and is a valued part of the site. She has reviewed a number of bands on this site, and has helped several acts with her kind words.

The STATIC RAIN FANS space

Mar 18 2009 1:57 PM

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Static Rain is a 2 piece band from the beautiful Yorkshire town of Keighley. Band members Tony Garthwaite and Jacob Barlow formed the band in 2008, driven by a joint passion for both electronic music and retro synths. The music they produce can be described as electronic pop with catchy choruses and memorable riffs that are prominent in all of their songs, making them popular with a very wide audience.

Following their initial success on MySpace, Static Rain continues to build a solid fan base and a strong reputation as a live act. The band is currently looking for gigs from June 09 onwards throughout the whole of the UK.

Great Review at Metal Express Radio:

Here's some of what reporter Kristian Nergard of Metal Express Radio
had to say about Mens Rea's 2nd Edition EP:

"Mens Rea is a Grunge band with the spirit of early Grunge bands like Alice In
Chains. This Israeli four-piece are about to merge out of the underground..."

"vocalist Tal Kedmy shows that he masters both low and high vocal
range. The song is catchy and that goes for the rest of the songs on
this CD as well..."

"Kedmy is perhaps the most impressive part about this band. His voice
is especially emotional and great in the high range. He's no Layne
Staley (late Alice In Chains vocalist), but there's plenty of talent
in this 25 year old singer..."

"Currently you can hear all five of these songs on the band's MySpace
site, and you definitely should. This is a promising start from a band
the music world is guaranteed to hear more from in the future..."

Mens Rea is proud to announce a new single release. Please check out the new song, entitled 'Abandoned', on the band's official My Space page,
www. myspace. com/guiltymind
(it's on auto play)

Or download it free, here:
http://www. yousendit. com/download/Q01HZEV4SU9iR0pFQlE9PQ

Copies of the song on Cds are also available free, by demand.

'Abandoned' has a beautiful guitar line and dramatic notions, and is generally the best from the group yet. This really is a fantastic song, in the band's humble opinion, and the fans love it, too.
