This page is dedicated to Demri, who was the love of Layne Staley's life. Their first date was on 6/12/89. Layne and Demri were described by their friends and family as perfect for each other, however, they drifted apart sometime in 1993 or 1994. Sadly, Demri passed away on October 29th, 1996, due to an inflammation of the heart caused by an unclean needle. Demri was a very sweet, beautiful person, interested in philosophy, poetry, and art. She loved to collect vintage clothes, make decoupage, write poetry and play in front of the camera. She touched many lives with her charismatic and enchanting personality.
Demri was an angel of light; And I will see her on the other side. In fact I have all ready seen her. She said she was sorry for all whom had mourned for her, that she wasn't coming back, and that she valued my friendship. I told this to the late Layne Staley later in the day when she crossed over.
You have know idea how much this site touches me,Demri was a very dear friend to me she was my very first friend when i moved to Arlington we spent many nights in her garage dressing up just being girls she was the sweetest thing I miss her very much. I Love you Demri:) Love, Missy Bumgarner
