Formed in 1990 Den Fule is primarily a collection of veterans from the ground-breaking Swedish folk scene , from bands such as Filarfolket and Groupa. The band toured Scandinavia intensely in the early nineties playing big festivals, concert halls, nightclubs as well as traditional folkmusic events.
Stylistically, Den Fule can combine R&B grooves with pop-rock riffs and jazz phrasing while the melody maintains a loyal reading of a traditional fiddle tune. Throughout it all, the music is always rooted in the folk tradition of Sweden, and incredible playing is always at center stage.
There are two Swedish releases, "Lugumleik" (1993, winner of a Swedish Grammy for Best Folk Album of the Year), and "Skalv" (1995). A compilation of these two records - "Quake" - is released by the label NorthSide in the US.
After a ten-year rest the band reformed in the spring of 2007 to perform a series of concerts in Sweden. They played at The Nordic Roots Festival in Minneapolis 2007. A new album is due to spring 2010.

Hi.I..ve made two new maspace sites.One site for funk (The Funkziz)and one for swedish rap and turntableism(Crackhanarna)and added some new songs to this one.All together 17 songs all produced by me.I play all instrumens and all vocals by my self exept for some guest artists.I..ve been recording songs since 18 years back but never cared to much for showing to the public,but I..ve been askt a lot to do so,so here it is. As you may or may not already know, in January of 2009, I am embarking on a two month tour with a friend, Al, of the project My Cell Phone Is Better Than Your Cell Phone (http://www. myspace. com/mycellphoneisbetter). This tour will span the entire length of the United States. We are travelling by Greyhound busline. It will begin January 8th in New York and end March 3rd in Michigan. I was going to wait until the entire schedule was completely done, but as people have been procrastinating, I figured now is as good a time as any. The majority of these shows are free, but as we do not have complete control over such things all of the time, specific shows are charged at the door, though they are very few. Regardless, any donations along the way are more than appreciated, as we are doing this completely independently and out of our pockets. We will be busking at various points on the tour, recording all over the place, and have many things for purchase, to help us eat along the way.

Hej Hej! Jag såg en spelning med er på Liseberg för många år sedan. Det var något av det röjigaste jag varit med om.
En gammal flickvän till mig hade en skiva mer er, jag lyssnade ofta på den. Kan ni inte lägga upp den där låten om han som rakade av sig skägget (kommer inte ihåg vad den hette). Jag kan fortfarande gå och tralla på den fastän det var över 10 år sedan jag hörde den senast.
Tjena fulingar! Tack för en grym spelning på Crossroads i fredags! Det satt som en smäck i själen på en sliten småbarnsfar! Stefan och Sten, en ära att få lira med er.
