"A Beautiful Mess", Denise Barbarita's hotly anticipated 4th CD, will be available on CD and as multiple format digital download in November 2009.
"A Beautiful Mess" features collaborations with world music artist, Francis MBappe, Apollo Heights guitarist Danny Chavis, and guitarist/composer, Michael Hewett.
The new album also features Denise's new band line-up, THE MORNING PAPERS.
Since 2007, guitarist Kelsey Warren (Also the frontman of his acclaimed band, Pillow Theory) has stepped in to take part in performing and collaborating with Denise on this album, as well as on other projects.
Denise has been VERY SUCCESSFUL licensing her original music for Film and TV programs.
Denise was delighted to find her song entitled, "No More Words" was used in the opening of a film for the Nissan Outdoor games 2008.
Over 10 of Denise’s songs from her past 3 albums are featured regularly on the daytime TV dramas, "One Life to Live" and "The Young & The Restless".
Her song, "Hush Hush", was featured on the ABC prime time TV series, "Traveler" and was also the opening theme for the independent film, "How to Grow an Olive Tree", along with an acoustic version of a song from "A Beautiful Mess", called "Suckers".
Since 2003, Denise has toured across the US, and continues to do so, wowing audiences with her live shows. She will be touring through Germany in September 2009.
You can get a taste of her live shows by picking up a copy of limited edition release, "Alive & B-Sides"(2007).
When not on the road, Denise works as a producer/engineer helping artists realize their dreams of making great albums. For the past 10 years, she has been an engineer at KAMPO STUDIOS in NYC, and recently has begun a partnership with another NYC studio, PYRAMID RECORDINGS. Denise, along with her partners, the Pyramid Recording Collective, will be available for projects in October 2009.
As a Recording Engineer/Producer, Denise has worked with Angie Stone, Herbie Hancock, David Byrne, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Cockburn, and The Roots. Independents include, singer/songwriters, Brenda Kahn, Kristi Martel, Celia Shacklett, Pillow Theory, Kevin So, Alyson Greenfield, Michael Hewett, and Halley Devestern.
