(Lewiston, ME) Denise Dill is a co-op livin', garden diggin', homegrown cookin' fool who creates soups of song out of organic ingredients and a little love. If his music smelled like somethin' it would be sourdough bread. If it tasted like somethin' it would be homebrew, and if it looked like somethin' it would be a collage. A collage of landscapes, people, and symbols that sounds like earthy folk with a queer twist. Dill's been at this since she was 15 and has toured around the country and performed with such artists as Pamela Means, Hamell on Trial, Alix Olson, Dave End, Lady Lamb the Beekeeper, and many more wonderful local artists who are not house hold names, but should be. The folksinger has a new album called "IN ME" weaving the stories and images of his home state, Indiana, with her new home in Maine. I guess two polaroids were taken and we each took one. I'd love to see that other one! Check out "Good Summer" and "Smoking the Horizon" on my player--I recorded them at Erik Rasmussen's studio in downtown Chicago. They sound pretty huge. How's the new album coming along?
Denise! I miss you!! We would love to come to you soon. Summer show? I really wish I could see you the 16th, but we will be in Boston that night. I hope you are well and can't wait to see you again! Aly
I wish more than anything I could make it to your show at Blue on Saturday, but I work til 11:30pm and wouldn't make it to portland til midnight. I know it will be splendid, though, and hope to make it to your guthries show in April!
