We are a New Zealand band with a German frontman and mostly American influences named after an English street called Denmark Street.
They did the dirty and compressed the thing. Also the producers were complaining about peaking so we had to play with less anger. Now look at my anger!
I'm not sure who we'll use, but the guy who did Artisan Guns seems really good. He does live recordings. I've heard the unmastered Artisan Guns EP and it sounds ace.
Great North will probably use him. I'm thinking we might too. Who knows. But I like the idea of live recording.
Caleb, my friend, you have in fact pointed out the exact things that annoy about the mix. Apparently the guy who did it is good at what he does, but I get the impression that this mostly involves poppy stuff with not-so-varied dynamics.
I want my climax! But bows are so expensive to replace. Next recording, when we're actually involved. It'll be awesome.
Oh goodness, I have no idea when we're playing next. We're trying to write some stuff at the moment but we have so much trouble doing anything 'cause we're both so busy!
I'm not 18 sadly and I know the barmaid there really well so it'd be staright out the door for me. HOWEVER, I'm 18 next month so after that!

Someone from the Kilns once posted a comment on one of my photos when I had my own myspace and said "You seem like a really interesting person, you should post more blogs so we know more about you" So I wrote a blog called "100 things about Teke" and one of the 100 things was about The Kilns. I can't remember what I said though. WIERD HUH!?
And yeah we play a lot of songs about America because most of our influences are from there and a lot of our covers are from bands from there and generally America is a more poetic place to write songs about dued to it's fame and stuff. Although our song "Dear Georgia" was originally called "Dear Lyttleton"
ooh sorry. i'll go into more detail then. some of my favourite artists at the moment include afi, the used, anberlin, placebo, liam finn, gallows...... and the list goes on. but i agree with that whole thing of not really going into much detail when the other person hasn't.
