Dennis McVeigh is a native of Philadelphia now residing in New York City. He studied Music Performance at West Chester University and Temple University. Having performed several leading roles, he has appeared in the operas Tosca, Eugene Onegin, The Saint of Bleecker Street, Aida, The Barber of Seville, La Boheme, Falstaff, Die Fledermaus, Les Mamelles de Tiresias, and Wozzeck among others. He has also appeared in Amahl and the Night Visitors under Maestro Gian Carlo Menotti, and Carmen under Carlos Saura, both of which were filmed and broadcast in Europe. In New York, Dennis performed a leading role in a Japanese opera, Amanjaku, at Lincoln Center’s Merkin Hall. He was also featured in Der Jasager at the Japan Society, and performed with the Network for New Music production of Ovidiana. In Philadelphia, Dennis performed in several operas with The Opera Co. of Philadelphia, The Pavarotti Voice Competition, and performed as a soloist and member of The Bridge Ensemble under the baton of Maestro Donald Nally, and The Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia. He also received rave reviews for his performances in the musical theatre tours of The King & I, and Richard Rodgers Two by Two with The Media Theater/Rockwell Productions. Dennis was recently heard as a concert soloist for Opera Exposures in New York, where he performed the arias E luce van le stelle, and Amor ti vieta. In Italy, Dennis has performed in several concerts and operas at Il Festival dei due Mondi (the Spoleto Festival), including the opera Wozzeck under the direction of Maestro Gunter Kramer.
