About me:
Dennis Wymer is an up and coming young artist currently residing in Richmond, Virginia. He has been painting since he could hold a brush and has been selling his work periodically for the past 13 years. He is primarily a painter using oils & encaustic as his main medium. He has recently completed his formal art training at Virginia Commonwealth University receiving a BFA in Art Education. He has shown his work throughout the state of Virginia and is eager to take his work outside of the state, taking his paintings nationally and hopefully internationally. The current focus of his work involves the usage of simple shapes and pure color to create an environment within the painting that is inviting and honest. Building a painting is also a primary focus of the work as well. He rejects creating art that reflects social & political commentary because he feels that the opinion of a struggling, little known artist is not neccesary nor appropriate. He'd rather his paintings display sincerity, honesty and pure human feeling.
As his work continues to grow and mature, so will opportunities to catch his images at various shows and galleries. Any questions, comments, complaints or requests can be directed through him or his broker, Deirdre.

One reason I made a page for my art is because not only because I want to show my work but also because i want to meet other artists and creatives to create a dialog so everyone's work can be more enriched. Creative issues and problems are best worked out sometimes if you just bounce an idea off of someone. I want to meet you all. Whether you're a painter, sculptor, photographer, model, admirer, critic, fashionista or a monster truck enthusiast, I will always talk with you; all are welcome. Art Whino joins forces with Tagür Footwear to present Inked Souls, an exhibition featuring customized sneakers and fine art by 35 local, national and international leaders in the Pop Surrealism/Urban Contemporary art movement. Each featured artist will customize one pair of AKA Blank Tagür sneakers along with one painting on canvas.
