Denn Santoro Denn Santoro has been playing music since he was young and his parents decided he should learn accordion. Happily that didn’t stick! It was the ‘60s and everyone wanted to play a guitar and as an early teen Denn got his hands on one. He never looked back. Once he got to college he teamed up with a female singer/songwriter and played a bit in the local area coffee houses. During that period, unfortunately all but his 12 string were stolen. Having only a 12 string really changed his playing. He continued to play solo at coffee houses like Tryworks and the Hardware Café, various other open mics and the occasional bar or festival. He is a regular at the New Bedford Café Arpeggio and has played other current venues such as the New Wave Cafe, the Beal House and the Soule Homestead Joe Davies folk festival. While never a prolific songwriter, he mixes a few originals with covers of some of his favorites including John Prine, Neil Young, Al Stewart, Moody Blues, Dan Fogelberg, Country Joe and the Fish, The Kinks and others; often with his own take on the song. (Yes, he is all over the map, musically). As he puts it, “Hey, I’m not a musician. I’m just a guitar player
He now also performs regularly with Helen Granger in the duo Dancing Eyebrows
