Jimmy Rogers, Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, Harlan Howard, Hank Cochran, Whitey Shaffer, Ernie Ford, Johnny Cash, Jimmy Durante, Dean Martin, Bob Dylan, Leon Russell, Mickey Newbury, Billy Joe Shaver, Danny Epps, Kris Kristopherson, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Jeff Walker, Roger Miller, Delbert McClinton, Townes Van Zant, Guy Clark, Butch Hancock, Kevin Welch, Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, John Prine, Tom Waites, Leon Redbone, and many others. There are many great singer/songwriters from the Louisville area, and around the country, that I've learned a lot from and who have been very supportive of my efforts. Most of them are on my "Friends" page and I don't want to leave anyone out so stop by for a visit.
Denny was born in Louisville, Kentucky on Derby Day (a LONG time ago!). He was drafted into the ARMY and served a year in Viet Nam. While living in Texas, he met and married his wife, Pamela Truitt. They eventually moved back to Kentucky where they have raised three children, Jack, Joe and Denise. Denny has written songs for a while but it wasn't until the late 1990's that some friends heard some of his music and encouraged him to do a bit more with it. He started to perform at area open mic. shows and has presented his songs all across the country to very favorable reviews. His first CD, "Blame it on the Whiskey" is just being released and he will be appearing at songwriter showcases and festivals in the near future.
