Bio
I'm reallllly picky (READ MY BLOGS) on what friends, connections and comments are placed on my page... I have my reasons (READ MY BLOGS)... After all it is MY Space (READ MY BLOGS). Just thought I'd let you know ahead of time in case yours doesn't show up on here (READ MY BLOGS). I became interested in music in high school. You can find out about my Garage Band days by going to www.MyFirstBand.com. Find BEAST in the bands list. Also at that time I was designing concert posters. Go to www.DenPreston.com to see some of those. Check out some of the links there too. Anyway... after I stopped being in bands I got into playing more instruments, writing songs and doing some home recording with my brother. I recorded an album in 1976 with some friends but the studio left town with the master tapes. I only had a cassette of rough mixes to show for that project. I recorded another album during the years 1987-1991. Toys From Hell was originally going to be a joint project with my brother. A few of his songs are in the CD bonus tracks. There are quite a variety of musicians playing on that album and a wide range of music.... acoustic folk to world beat to bluegrass to heavy metal. Some of the musicians were from bands who's album covers I had illustrated. The album received airplay on public access and college stations in the states and on a few European stations too. In 1993 I began to home record again but this time on a much better recorder. I did all the vocals and instruments... so that's all me singing and playing you hear on the basement tapes songs featured here. Sometimes I was also able to record with my brother which was cool because he lived on the East Coast and I didn't see him often. Some of the Basement Tapes 1993-95 were recorded at his place on Cape Cod. Since then I've done a little recording. I think there's enough home recordings to make 3-4, 80 minute CDs.
