Dented Records was established in 2003 by Foreign Beggars as a vehicle to release their own material. The labels first release, "Where did the Sun Go" ft. Dark Circle (Jazz Fudge) and Tommy Evans established the name and the brand. Foreign Beggars soon released their 2nd single "Seasons Beatings" featuring UK hip hop legends Task Force. Soon, the critically acclaimed Foreign Beggars debut album "Asylum Speakers" dropped. This album featured the cream of the UK movement, (Skinnyman, Task Force, Kashmere, Dark Circle, Dr Syntax and many more) and is now widely considered as a classic among classics, with DJ Magazine rating this album as the 'Best Unsung UK Hip Hop Album Of All Time'.
The Label has since grown and released a slew of successful 12"s, EP's, mixtapes and Albums and has developed artists such as Skrein, Dr. Syntax (E.O.W. challenge reigning UK Champ), Stig Of The Dump (UK Battle Scars Champ/ Jump Off Battle Champ), Dubbledge (Lowlife Recs), Focused Few (ex members of Roots Manuva's Live band, Plantlife and Lotek Hi Fi).
In association with Coda Agency Artists, Dented records artists tour extensively both nationally and internationally to promote their releases.
Tour destinations have included America, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Norway, France, Austria, Italy, South Africa, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Spain, Arab and Asian States. They also promote regular hip hop and related events in and around the UK, in the biggest and best festivals and nightclubs including Glastonbury, Fabric, the Bestival and many, many more.
Dented Records artists have collaborated with Bjork, Damon Albarn's Gorillaz project, Scratch Perverts, Plan B, Dudley Perkins, Wildchild (Lootpack), OhNo, Roc C, R. A. The Rugged Man, Task Force, Dabrye, Canibuss, K-Solo, Vex'd, Skinnyman, Jehst, Dj Vadim, Frank n Dank, Natalie Williams, Rodney P, Skitz, Euphrates, Niraj Chaag, Dum Dum Project, Doujah Raze, Puto Largo, SFDK (Spain), Micky Finn, Baby J, and many others.
