The DENVER FREE SOUND SYSTEM is a relaxed & loose collective of artists, DJs, musicians, music producers, visual artists and nutters into producing festive free party atmospheres ala renegade stylee. Join us!
Our focus is having a fun tyme and not profit. We lack a budget so we can't throw huge events but if you have an underground event planned and would like to have us involved then make contact as we can lively it up nicely with our sound rig and variety of artists. We can create a chill out room at your rave. We can party in your basement, living room, kitchen or garage. We can rock out your barn. We can go remote into corn fields and into the mountains. We can play between acts at punk rock shows.
Purists beware! Our music styles are all over the map. Various DJs play everything from:
avant post rock, ambient, drone, folk, jazz, bluegrass, rock, indie, punk, reggae, house, techno, mashups, bootlegs, experimental, hip hop, soul, funk, downbeat, dubstep, disco, goth, film soundtracks, world beat, etc, etc. We are not really so into mainstream top40 as you can get plenty of that elsewhere but instead obscure old & new music is the the goal. Be it old tunes or new tunes, we hope to entertain and inspire via audio and visual methods. State of the art equipment combined with ancient gear from the 1960's and 1970's create a unique party.
WE are looking for YOU to join. Can you help DJ, show videos, show slides, be a roadie, make posters, promote, etc? We are all ages, all orientations, all races. Open minded and ready to get rowdy.
The collective is forming from the LANZING FREE SOUND SYSTEM of Michigan and the BOULDER PIRATE SOUND SYSTEM from Colorado. We are currently based outa the Colorado front range area of Denver & Boulder.
