The World's First Totally Acoustic Guitar Musical!
Four lads return from the summer holiday of their lives to find themselves with a long delay in Malaga Airport departure lounge........."Ibiza Uncovered" meets "The History Boys" as they learn what it's like to be 18, British and despised by the rest of Europe..........................Featuring such hummable tunes as 'BRITS ON TOUR', 'WHY DO WE SAY GAY' and 'WE RULE THE WORLD'.....DEPARTURE LOUNGE is a totally acoustic guitar musical ........................................................WARNING:....This show contains language and hand gestures some of you will (hopefully) find offensive! ...................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................................... ........................................................................................................................................ .................................... PRODUCTION HISTORY: ............. Departure Lounge won the inaugural PERFECT PITCH festival of new writing in 2006. It was then picked up by three commercial producers and given two workshop peformances in the West End at the Arts Theatre in March 2007 under the title 'UNZPIPPED!' ... since then the songs 'Left Spain' and 'Brits on Tour' have been performed at the Royal Academy of Music Christmas concert and the Whatsonstage award ceremony with great critical success. A short workshop has taken place at the Royal Academy, and the producers now believe the show is commercially ready. Like any unknown new musical, it is a commercial risk, attracting word-of-mouth support is key. The Edinburgh run (which we are hoping to do a cast album for) will hopefully raise the profile of the show to an extent where it can follow the likes of Jerry Springer, Into the Hoods and Eurovision: Eurobeat back into the West End. Please help spread the word.

Tremendous show last week. Watching Unzipped was the most entertained I´ve been for a long time in any theatre. Love the way the story unwinds, awesome humour, great characters and music that keeps growing. Good luck for taking it to the next level.
