Derby Music Scene is a website set up to bring together elements of the music scene in Derby. As our city grows, our music scene grows.
More and more Derby venues are opening their doors to live music events, and the live scene here has now developed to a much healthier state than years gone by. Venues are showing their loyalty to local bands, events and promoters, and together they are all working hard to draw music lovers out to enjoy this fine City's music scene.
Derby has always housed a wealth of credible and very talented musicians and more and more Derby artists are getting noticed nationally and internationally. Various genres of music are breaking through and scenes are growing at a rapid rate. Also Derby music scene players are opening their minds to work with other players from various other scenes.
Things look very promising for Derby's music scene! We aim to show this, celebrate our City's culture and bring the Derby music scene together for a bright and glorious future.
We aim to work closely with Derby music scene players whether that be music lovers, gig-go-ers, artists, bands, DJs, events, promoters, labels. recording studios, rehearsal rooms, services, shops and venues. As we learn to promote and support one another, derbymusicscene.co.uk is here to help as a central source. In time we will realise our dream of keeping Derby on the musical map permanently as well as building a music scene to be reckoned with. We all know that this is possible, and together we will achieve it.

Who? Why?
The Derby Music Scene sites have been started by me, Mark. I'm a local musician, and also a designer.
Why Have I started this for free?
I've started the sites to offer resources to other local music people who may not have their own site or just want another outlet to promote themselves. Its like a local myspace really and more. I have my own sites for myself as a musician, designer and as part of a collective / DIY label. You don't need to know what they are as its not about promoting myself or anything I'm involved in. I wish to remain anonymous really. It genuinely is for anyone residing or active in Derby, Derbyshire or surrounding area to make use of. I hope that it will bring elements of the Derby Music Scene together to support one another. A lot of hard work has been done in this area by other web designers, writers, radio people, labels, promoters, bands, studios, rehearsal rooms, venues etc. I commend you all, you know who you are! I'm not trying to tread on their toes, only offer more resources to all. That's why I've made the sites open to all to add to themselves in the hope of providing an unbiased resource for everyone.

An email will be sent to you with a password. Please use a login name that reflects who your are, what band etc. Before you are authorised to post, we will check that you are truly are residing or active in the scene in Derby, Derbyshire or surrounding area.
