Below are some pictures I took during the festive season, 'Nadal', in Catalunya, in Spain, Dec 07 and Jan 2008. Highlight of the season seems to be the 'Night of the Three Kings', where, in Tortosa (about 100 miles south of Barcelona, crowds line the streets on the night of 5 Jan. A procession arrives and characters including the Three Kings hurl sweets for the kids, who dive all over the road to pick them up!
Thanks to Isabel el Cid, of Tortosa, who very kindly unravelled the mysteries of Catalan pronunciation for me, in a 'language swap'.
About me: Hi. I'm Nigel Tissington and I do photography in a unique studio setting in a fab-yoooou-lus location. The studio is in a rustic old mill building, by the side of a river, in Darley Abbey Village in Derby UK. Some of the work involves make-up, styling and portfolios. See the websites below for more pictures.
A creative project at the Derby photography studio between me and pole dancer Genevieve Moody, whose studio is next to mine, produced a set of photographs which are available as a calendar for 2008, printed on fine art paper. There's a selection of the images shown below.
Who I'd like to meet: Dancers; Musicians; Photographers; Artists; Actors; Make-up artists and Stylists; Creative, positive and inspirational people; a flamenca dancer who would like to become part of our dancers photography portfolio; anyone who speaks Spanish or Catalan who would like to do a 'language swap'realeditorbest profile toolsrealeditorbest profile tools
