Derek has contributed his gifts for over 30 years in the gospel music industry as a drummer, bass guitarist, songwriter and producer. Derek has worked with some of the true pioneers of gospel music such as Rev. James Cleveland, Dorothy Norwood, Albertina Walker, Rev. Andrae Crouch, Rev. Timothy Wright, Rev. Alvin Darling, The Clark Sisters, The Barrett Sisters, The Davis Sisters, Rev. Cleophus Robinson, Myrna Summers, The O'Neal Twins, Sim Wilson Jr., Issac Douglas, Bishop Jeff Banks, Rev. Charles Banks, Glenn Jones, Min. Donald Malloy, The Swan Silvertones, Rev. Hubert Powell, Jeffrey LaValley, Rhani Harris, Genobia Jeter, The Caravans, Rev.
