Derek Improving a Guitar Solo
What's going on?...The name is Derek Lester...you probably already know that if you're here...and if not then Hello. First things first, If you happen to hear me singing on this site then please understand that I know I cannot sing but believe it or not I DO actually enjoy it LoL. I dont take pride in my singing or anything but it is something I like to and I feel like I have to put them on here because when I write this music I usually hear some form of lyrics in my head first (sounds crazy I know LoL). Basically created this MySpace to showcase my "composing" capabilities...if you choose to call it that LoL...anything that you hear on this site has been COMPLETELY and totally made by myself. I dabble in a lot of instruments currently I would have to say Myself that Im primarily a Bass player but most people tend to think I play guitar better so go figure LoL...I've been testing the waters with playing Piano as well, I just started playing summer of 08 so dont expect a masterpiece, especially considering I'm self taught...Started playing Music a few years back when I was around 17...thats When Nick Dean let me borrow his bass and since then I have pretty much taught myself everything I know...I went from bass to guitar in December of '07...thats when I bought my first guitar an Epiphone SG special (pretty much the cheapest guitar you can buy with a good name on it)...went from there been playing since then and graduated to a Gibson Explorer in October of '08 (proof that money overshadows talent)...I gain my influences in music from a lot of places...I really have no idea what attracted me to Rock music due to the fact that all my life I have been raised to think it was the devil's music or that it was just noise...and believe it or not I went a very long time with that frame of mind before I started thinking for myself a while ago...Im not just limited to Rock music however...I love any type of music that takes practice...and by that I mean any person who can grab a guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, cello, violin, viola, clarinet, trombone, tuba, trumpet, snare drum, saxophone, recorder, kazoo, harmonica, steel guitar, xilophone, dijuridoo or set down at a keyboard or piano and produce music to a beat and in the same key and work at it to do so is a person who can create music...I absolutely despise music like Rap or hip Hop or R&B...anyone with a voice can have lyrics written for them and sing to computer synthed music...say what you will i wont reverse that aspect of view towards music..anyone can talk...oh yea that brings me to my next point...plz dont leave any BS hate comments or anything on here...I have zero, zilch, negative, absolutely no intentions of being noticed or making it big in anyway...I dont want put on a label, I dont want signed, I'm not really trying to get in a band. Just playing my music and putting it out there for people to hear. Anything else you want to know just ask...enjoy

Well allow me 1st to say that your song "Home" is ROCKIN awesome! I'm impressed and I like that song... but now lol..., what I wanted to tell u is that Me and Rozie are hard at work with some of our own material and we are actually getting some stuff accomplished! And we are seriously goin to need someone to record here soon so we may get up with you on that if you'll still be interested.
