Influenced by reruns of Good Times, Kung Fu Theater, The Super Friends cartoon, barely eatable frozen burritos and mass quantities of red cool aid, Derrick first began rhyming after a family member gave him a used copy of Kool Moe Dee’s "How Ya Like Me Now" LP. Later as a freshman he tested his skills (or lack there of) in cipher sessions at West Covina High School in beautiful Southern California. Then after a sudden change of scenery Derrick found himself living in the inner city of Houston, Texas. Dissatisfied with rhyming only in school hallways and on neighborhood corners, he developed his skills at house parties; night clubs and anywhere else he could find two turn tables and a microphone.
After high school, Derrick co-founded the group “The Night Owls” and put out several demos but eventually the group disbanded. He then decided to pursue a different direction in both music and faith. He went on to join the short lived but highly influential crew “Blitzkrieg Brigade”. Drawing from these experiences Derrick hit the studio as a solo emcee and released his first independent LP “No Retreat No Surrender”. He then returned with his sophomore indie release entitled “Stay Alert”. The underground buzz from these two projects gained him the ability to travel the U.S. and overseas, performing in front of thousands.
Derrick Fury is currently in the studio working on a new project drawing influence from Jack Johnson, Ben Harper and Mat Kearney to name a few. The soon to be released Full length entitled “Back for the First Time” hosts produced by Vince Lichlyter of “Jonah33”, Marcus Acker of “Inhabited”, Dave Santos of “No Comp Music” and “TMQ”. Derrick eagerly looks forward to a lifetime of making great music and changing the perspective of hip hop.

Father's day is next Sunday. If your on a budget and stumped for what to do to celebrate the man in your life, don't worry we've got some cheap deals for you.
Stubbs Harley Davidson on Telephone will celebrate dad on Saturday, June 20. "The more bikers the better we love when we have lots of iron out here on the pavement," said Brendan Delgado.
Dad's can enjoy a free BBQ. "We're also going to run specials on all product lines for import and Harley Davidsons," Delgado said.
While dads will of course be the star of the show, this is an event the entire family can enjoy, listen to music from the 80's, the US Army will be on hand with fun activities for the kids and there will be a model search for the ladies.
